Tammie took a deep breath. “Benedict, I don’t blame you for suspecting Ann. You don’t know her. You don’t know what kind of person she is. If you had grown up with her like I did, you would understand how I feel.”
Benedict’s head throbbed even more. “Fine, fine! I won’t argue with you. Let’s just wait for the camera footage to be recovered.” There was no point in talking to Tammie now. Once the footage was restored and they had proof of who the thief was, he would have no choice but to face reality.
Tammie nodded. “You’re right. The facts will speak for themselves.” Then he added, “But I’ll say it again: if the footage proves Ann is innocent, you owe her an apology.”
“Fine,” Benedict said, tired of arguing. “If Ann is innocent, I will get on my knees and beg for her forgiveness.” He emphasized the last few words. He was a man of his word. He then looked at Tammie. “And what about you? If the recovered footage proves Ann was the one who stole the designs, what are you going to do?”
Tammie scoffed, his voice cold. “Then I will give Lindy my life!” He was so confident that he didn’t even consider the possibility of being wrong.
Benedict’s brow furrowed. “Tammie, that’s not something you can just say lightly!”
“I trust Ann!” Tammie repeated, his voice unwavering.
Benedict gave up and took out his phone, opening the security camera app. After entering the account and password, the screen remained
