Chapter 1106
Eleanor gripped the steering wheel, her focus on the road as the scenery outside flew by. She could feel the intense, direct gaze from the man beside her and did her best to ignore it.
Perhaps lan was truly tired, because before long, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
When Eleanor pulled into the laboratory’s parking lot, she turned to look at the sleeping man. She tried calling his name. “Ian, we’re here p>
He didn’t respond. Eleanor was anxious to get back to work and didn’t have time to wait, so she reached out to nudge his shoulder. “Ian, wake up. We’re here p>
As she reached to nudge him a second time, her hand was suddenly caught by a warm, firm grip.
lan had woken up at some point. As he opened his eyes, he held onto her hand, his deep, bright gaze fixed on her.
Eleanor instinctively pulled her hand away and reminded him again, “We’re here. Get out p>
lan rubbed his brow and got out of the car, his usual calm and composed demeanor restored.
Eleanor walked ahead, and he followed behind, his long legs moving at a steady pace, his eyes tracing her figure as they entered the elevator together and she stepped into her office.
Dr. Smith did indeed have urgent business with him. He came over with a document in hand. “Mr. Goodwin, you’re here. I’ve brought the file p>
He explained the importance of the document as he opened it to the signature line.
lan took the document and signed his name with a swift, clean motion, showing no signs of his earlier intoxication.
“Mr. Goodwin, there’s something I need to bring to your attention. Miss Vanessa Shannon’s blood sample showed trace amounts of alcohol residue, which could affect our research. Could you please remind her to abstain from alcohol for the time being p>
lan’s eyes sharpened. “I’ll remind her p>
As soon as Eleanor sat down in her office, a message from Joy Thatcher popped up. “Dr. Sutton, you’re absolutely killing it p>
Below was a screenshot from a business journal. It was a powerful photo taken as they were heading to the restaurant: Ian and Mr. Brown walking side-by-side, with lan looking back at Eleanor, who was smiling and talking with President Larkin The headline was cleverly crafted: “Goodwin Co. CEO lan Goodwin Takes the Helm of The Guild of Commerce, Ushering in a New Era of Technology with Industry Leaders p>
Eleanor, dressed in a simple gray suit, walked with composure among the industry giants, exuding an outstanding and scholarly presence despite her youth.
Joy also sent a screenshot of the

“Oh my god! The way lan looks at Eleanor… I think I ship them again p>
“If only they hadn’t divorced. A power couple like them is the ultimate pairing p>
“What a shame! I wish they’d get back together. Eleanor is the kind of celebrity I should be following p>
Eleanor frowned as she read the comments and replied to Joy, “You’re giving me too much credit. I was just there to make up the numbers p>
“Don’t be so modest. You deserve all the praise,” Joy replied.
Next, Joy sent a photo of lan looking distinguished on the podium. The media caption read, “A business” magnate under thirty proves that a leader’s value lies not in seniority, but in vision and courage p>
“Scumbag tendencies aside, lan is still handsome!” Joy commented.
Eleanor chatted with her for a bit longer about their kids before immersing herself in her work.
However, the news still managed to provoke others.
