Chapter 1180

Gavin turned away to take the call. Gwenda realized she had forgotten her phone and said to Eleanor, “Eleanor, wait for me, I’ll be right back. I left my phone p>

Eleanor nodded and overheard Gavin’s voice. “Miss Shannon, how can I help you p>

Eleanor couldn’t help but turn to look at Gavin as she heard him maintain a professional politeness. “Mr. Goodwin is currently away on an overseas business trip. I’m not in a position to share the details of his schedule p>

“I’m unable to contact Mr. Goodwin at the moment, I’m sorry p>

“A gift list?” Gavin’s surprised voice came through. “What kind of gift is Miss Shannon referring to p>

“I’m sorry, but I can’t make that decision on Mr. Goodwin’s behalf. You’ll have to wait until he returns to the country to bring it up p>

It was unclear what Vanessa said on the other end, but Gavin’s voice grew tinged with impatience. “I understand your feelings, but I have no authority over Mr. Goodwin’s personal matters. I apologize, but I have to go now p>

Gavin hung up first. When he turned around, he was startled to find Eleanor standing right behind him. He quickly explained, “Miss Sutton, that was Miss Shannon calling for Mr. Goodwin. She was submitting a gift list according to the terms of their contract p>

Eleanor remembered that the contract between lan and Vanessa did indeed have a clause about providing gifts on specified dates.

Before Eleanor could say anything, Gavin hurriedly added, “Miss Sutton, actually, all the gifts Mr. Goodwin has given Miss Shannon over the years have been in

fulfillment of that contract. And it has always been me who handled the transactions for her “

“Gavin, you don’t need to explain,” Eleanor interrupted. “We’re divorced. His personal life has nothing to do with me p>

Gavin paused, a bit helpless. “You’re right. It would be better to let Mr. Goodwin explain this to you himself another day p>

Just then, Gwenda returned with her phone. “Eleanor, come on, let’s go for a walk in the garden p>

Gavin sat down on a bench in the hallway outside the room to rest. A message came in—it was a photo of a purple jade bracelet with a price tag of 3.8 million.

“Gavin, this is the gift I’ve chosen this time. See when you have time to purchase it for me,” Vanessa’s message read.

No matter how composed Gavin usually was, a look of contempt flashed in his eyes. Vanessa’s method of asking for gifts had always been this direct and ruthless.

Gavin didn’t reply immediately. Frustrated, he stood up and went to the window for some fresh air.

His gaze fell upon Eleanor and Gwenda strolling in the garden below. He couldn’t help but sigh. If Mr. Goodwm hadn’t gotten entangled with an ambitious and calculating woman like Vanessa, perhaps he and Eleanor would never have divorced.

At the Walden Wells villa.

Vanessa stared at her phone, waiting for Gavin’s reply. But after a long wait, there was nothing, which made her increasingly irritated. The difference in her treatment was now worlds apart.

In the past whenever she wanted a birthday gift, she would just pick something, send it to lan, and Gavin would quickly sign off on the purchase on his behalf. But now

Gavin was ignoring her.

As long as that contract was valid, and as long as lan was unwilling to terminate it,

he had to fulfill its terms. Otherwise, she could sue.

This time, she had carefully selected a top-grade purple jade bracelet that she had fallen in love with at first sight it would perfectly complement an evening gown that Walden Wells had given her. Content Belongs

She had made up her mind to restart her career and step back into the public eye. There was no sense letting the attention her face attracted just go to waste.
