“But Naomi, how is Arabella so accomplished? How does she even know Dr. Aletta?” Ruby grumbled, resentment coloring her tone. Not only did she know the famous specialist, but she was also their protégé. How did Arabella get so lucky?
“I don’t know anything about that either.” Naomi, too, was deeply unsettled by this revelation.
“Do you think… she could be lying?” Ruby ventured, her voice dropping.

“Think about it. None of us has ever actually seen this famous doctor. It’s all just Arabella’s word, ” Ruby pointed out, growing more convinced. Maybe Arabella had fabricated the entire story.
