Arabella took a seat and smiled at Edward. “A business associate of my friend happened to be in Doranor City these past few days. When I reached out to my friend for help, she saw the project details and was really interested. She decided to invest right away.”

Edward was thrilled. “Really? They actually want to invest?”

Arabella nodded. “Of course it’s true. If you’re okay with the terms, you can sign the contract.”

“Don’t they need to see the company in person first?” Edward was surprised they were ready to sign so quickly.

“Not necessary. As long as the project itself is solid, that’s all they’re focused on,” Arabella explained.

Edward let out a sigh of relief. “I see.”

He had been worried that as a brand–new, small operation, he might disappoint the investor if they looked too closely.

“Arabella, your friend is a lifesaver. Is there any way to set up a meeting? I’d really like to take them out for a proper thank–you dinner,” Edward said sincerely.

From the very first idea of starting this company until now, this person had been helping him so much.

Arabella smiled calmly. “There’ll be plenty of time for that later, Edward.”

“It’s not a good time right now?” Edward felt a little disappointed.

“Yeah, my friend is overseas. Probably won’t be back for a while,” Arabella offered as an excuse.

Edward relaxed a little. “In that case, I guess it’ll have to wait for another time.”

“Edward, don’t worry about all that. I’ll handle it,” Arabella reassured him.

“Since your friend isn’t around, how about I take you to dinner tonight? After all, if it weren’t for you, stepped in. So I want to thank you, too,” Edward invited,

“No,” Arabella said, putting on a displeased look.

Edward was confused. “What’s wrong?”

Arabella didn’t answer, just looked at Edward with a slightly hurt expression.

After a moment, Edward realized what he’d said and couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay, my mistake.”

“How about this–not as a thank–you, just as siblings grabbing a bite together. Would that be okay?” Edward rephrased.

Only then did Arabella smile with satisfaction. “That’s more like it.”

Seeing her happy, Edward said affectionately, “You little rascal.”

“Exactly. We’re family. If you keep thanking me, I’ll feel like you don’t really see me as your sister,” Arabella complained lightly.

“I know I was wrong. I promise I won’t do it again,” Edward surrendered immediately. “You pick anywhere you want for dinner tonight, as my apology.”

“Really? Anything I want?” Arabella raised an eyebrow at him.

Edward was serious. “Absolutely.”

With a playful grin, Arabella said, “Then… how about that night street fair downtown? The one with all the food trucks?”

“The street fair?” Edward was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Arabella to choose something like that.

“Do you want to go or not?” Arabella teased.

Edward was almost in disbelief. “You’d really go with me?”

“Of course,” Arabella said, tilting her head a little proudly.

“Arabella…” Edward was touched. He knew Arabella had chosen the street fair for him.

Ever since he was a kid, because of his health issues, he was rarely allowed to go out to crowded places. He’d spent more than half of every year in the hospital, and the rest at home recovering.

So, he’d always been curious about the lively, everyday world outside.

Arabella had always found ways to bring him little things from outside–books, music, stories–to make his life less dull. But street food was a line he’d never been allowed to cross.

Because of his delicate health, his diet had always been strictly controlled.

As for the bustling street fairs and food trucks, he’d only ever seen pictures or watched videos online, but had never experienced them himself.

Seeing Edward quiet, Arabella asked softly, “Edward, don’t you want to go?”

“I do, of course I do,” Edward said with more emphasis, sounding a bit urgent. “I just never thought I’d actually get to go to something like that.”

“Your health is much better now. You still need to be mindful, but a little treat once in a while is fine,” Arabella reassured him.

Edward nodded. “Alright, then it’s settled. The street fair tonight.”

“Okay, I’ll swing by your office after work,” Arabella said,

“Where is your company? I can pick you up,” Edward offered, not wanting her to go out of her way.

Arabella shook her head. “It’s fine. From your pláce, the fair is right on the way.”

Since she insisted, Edward agreed. “Alright, as you say. I’ll wait for you at the office.”

Arabella’s smile brightened, “I should get to work now. I’ll come find you after.”

“I’ll walk you out,” Edward began to stand, but Arabella stopped him.

“Edward, you should get back to my friend as soon as you can. They’re waiting to finalize the contract,” Arabella said with a twinkle in her eye.

Edward grinned. “If Arabella brought it, do I even need to look it over? I’m ready to sign anytime.”
