Chapter 743 LADY IN THE LAKE

AIDEN’S POV

Aiden had taken a walk away from the pack house for some fresh air.

A very long walk in fact.

He hated having to see his younger brother in pain.

Despite being twins, Bale and Aiden were in some ways still the same.

Except Aiden had been informed Bale had fallen and had an epileptic shock.

Something that had never happened before.

The thing was, Bale had always been sickly.

From the moment they had been born.

It had been him Aiden first, before Bale.

He knew the story.

He had been strong and healthy while Bale had been born about a day later, weak and small.

They had grown and the disparity was obvious.

Bale had always wanted to stay in and read.

Wanted to be a scholar.

Aiden had already been looked at as the future Alpha.

There was no debating it.

But just like his brother, he had grown a massive love for the stars and the stories they told.

His parents would be disappointed to know how he felt.

About how sometimes despite how much he loved being the next in line to the pack, he wanted to experience life on his own.

And now his parents had sent him to a random annexed pack that was weeks away from the capital.

A place in the middle of nowhere he hadn’t heard existed, all because the people had all of a sudden found Azurite in the mines.

Azurite was a jewel so important and rare for wolves.

There were hardly any other functions mines with them.

And so in good fate, his parents had sent he and Bale even though he had sternly objected against Bale coming along.

But Bale had been excited to be anywhere but home.

Bale always had it much easier.

He was smaller and always taken to be fragile.

He Aiden had to do majority of the work because it was what was expected of him.

And now on the first week here, Bale was hanging between life and death.

He knew his brother was going to be fine.

He had panicked for quite a while, but as he strode through the forests, he felt a sudden relief.

It was then he knew that Bale was now out of danger.

Twin wolves could feel each other’s strength.

He breathed a sigh of relief.

He set his hands in his pockets as he made his way back to the pack house.

And then his mind flashed to the girl with fire red hair and he felt his stomach turn.

Never in his life had he met someone so beautiful and yet so terrifying.

Her beauty was rare, untouched.

She had the most unusual hair colour.

Red.

Bright fire red hair.

He had assumed that only members of the royal family had red hair.

Apparently the rumours were false.

She has beautiful blue eyes and freckles on her nose.

Her brows were naturally carved, her pointed nose, those splendid sharp lips that made him furious.

Her beautiful breasts had been a sigh to behold over her chests and yet she had climbed the wall like a mad man.

No woman had ever challenged him in his life.

His hands subconsciously went to his brow where she had smacked the arrow at.

She had also given him a slap, cursed him over some damn bird.

He had searched everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found.

She had humiliated him and he wanted to punish her.

He wanted to be curious and know what had given her the audacity to challenge him.

Hit him.

No woman had ever.

Not even his own mother!

And yet a girl he knew nothing about, had.

The future Alpha of the pack.

He chewed on his bottom lip as he pushed through the forests on his way back.

He sniffed to follow his way back.

He pushed past some branches and stopped in his tracks instantly.

There was someone else.

He looked down and saw a lake.

There was a girl inside.

She was backing him, but even though that red hair was now drenched in water, he knew where it was from .

His blood boiled and yet his body shivered.

She was here.

Naked from what he could tell, swimming and talking to herself.

For a split second he wondered if he was imagining it.

He mistakenly stepped on a twig and she spun around in alarm.

Sure enough, he saw her breasts, but not her nipples, unfortunately.

So she was naked.

She yelped in horror.

“You!” They both snapped in unison.

Her face went red and he could feel his burning up.

He saw her quickly dip down a bit into the lake to hide her nudity.

“What are you doing here?” She demanded harshly.

The gall of her!

After what she had done to him she still spoke to him with zero courtesy

“What am I doing here? What are you doing here?” He snapped at her.

She looked at me rudely. “None of your business. Get out.”

And then it occurred to him with a raised brow what she was probably doing here.

“So you come here, swim naked, to find a lover. Or perhaps your lover is already somewhere around.” He sneered looking around. “Public sex or nudity is a crime against this pack.”

“I am so sorry great Alpha of the pack. Punish me till I beg for forgiveness.” She mocked.

It only infuriated him more.

Who the hell did she think she was.

He watched her beckon to her horse. “Come Penny.”

The horse slowly began to approach her in the water.

He saw her clothes hanging from the satchel of the bag and knew what she was about to do.

He quickly rushed to the horse and grabbed its reins pulling it back.

“What are you doing?” She shrieked.

He pulled the horse who was reluctant to come to his side amidst neighs of defiance.

He used the presence of his wolf and the animal became gentle.

He fished through her satchel and found her clothes.

They were simple clothes that a poor girl would own.

He waved them to her view.

Mocking in return.

If she wanted it, she should come get it.
