Chapter 769 INDEBTED

I was completely dumbfounded.

My lips were hanging on about as I blinked.

I could barely even form any words.

Owing him a million gold pounds? Paid our debtors?

Him?

I was too shocked to utter a single word.

“What’s that?” He asked cruelly. “Cat’s got your tongue? Now all of a sudden you can’t say a word?”

I chewed my bottom lip.

“What do you mean I’m owing you a million gold coins?” I finally found my voice and then I quickly jerked free from his grip. “And what do you mean you paid my debtors? You’re lying.”

He folded his hands over me and eyed me down closely. “Didn’t your father have a debt? Of over a million gold coins to some thugs?”

I set my hand against my throat unable to believe any of this.

“How did you-

“I have told you already red.” He replied smartly. “This is now my pack. I am the acting Alpha. There is nothing you can hide from me.”

I swallowed.

“It’s the same way I know you went out with my brother and for some reason or the other, an old she wolf was found dead.” He announced.

I began to feel dizzy.

I stuttered without even being able to form words.

“There is so much you are already in trouble for.” He pointed out.

I bit my bottom lip so hard it began to bleed.

“And if I say I’m not going to listen to you?” I finally found my voice.

“Well you would be imprisoned for theft. The story will be that you stole from the pack. But that’s just too easy for you. Your parents will be arrested for assisting you in kidnapping and murder.”

My eyes widened in horror. “Kidnapping and murder? What the hell are you even speaking about?-

“An old woman died in your hands.” He pointed out. “You held my brother hostage and had an innocent old woman killed. “

Ruby was fuming.

Who the fuck did this this….. monster think he was!

“Your parents were the ones who organised it. You simply executed the plan on your own. But they were the mastermind. And while you await sentencing. They will have the souls of their wolves ripped out of their bodies before they will be executed in front of everyone. You’re not a wolf yet, but I’m pretty sure you have heard the stories about how painful that is. Even supposedly worse than death. It’s actually my favourite means of torture.” He winked at me.

My face fell in horror and disgust.

“How can you do such a thing?!” I spat in anger, my fists clenched to the side. “My mother saved your brother’s life. Is that how you thank her?”

He gave me a funny look. “If you think I care about anything past my own selfish desires then you must be insane.”

“You selfish bastard!” I snapped at him.

He cocked a brow. “Was that supposed to hurt my feeling?”

Nothing I said or did made any change.

I was trapped in this with him and there was nothing I could do.

He was going to make my family suffer just for his selfish desires.

Half of me was tempted to call it or a bluff but the moment I looked up at him, I felt a cold sinister energy.

And it terrified me.

He was actually going to get rid of anyone and everyone just so he could get his way.

I swallowed. “I’ll pay you back your gold. I promise. Just leave my parents out of this.”

He smiled.

A dangerous one. “You could never afford to. That’s why your service to me is payment until I say it’s done.”

I began to feel beads of sweat against my forehead.

“Also you still haven’t told me how you were able to heal the dead bird I had shot down.” He reminded.

I felt an instant shiver down my spine.

What had I gotten myself into.

Did I even have a choice now?

I sighed heavily and looked up at him.

“Okay.” I nodded in agreement.

“What was that?” He asked peered down over me.

“I’ll be your hand maiden.” I finally accepted.

He grinned at me.

“Wise decision.” He remarked. “From tomorrow you would be informed on your duties and how I expect them to be carried out. You will do as I say Ruby. That smart mouth of yours will be kept shut. I’ll teach you how to respect those above you. Do you understand.”

With every word he said he stepped closer.

I took a step back.

“Do you understand me?!” He barked at me.

I turned my face away. “I understand you.”

It infuriated me how much he now had control.

I had never found myself in a tight corner before.

Never had anyone put me in a corner where I had no escape and now this arrogant bastard had me.

Had the lives of my family in his hands.

I rubbed the side of my arm and turned away from him hurrying off in Alice’s direction.

“Where do you think you are going?” I heard him ask behind me.

I rolled my eyes without turning to face him before saying.

“I want to go find the only friend that you helped ruin my relationship with.” And with that I rushed off the hallway.

I felt the tears gather up in my eyes as I hurried off.

I could feel the eyes of everyone who had seemed at had happened on me.

The shame and humiliation that overcame me.

I swallowed my pride and ego as I hurried off.

I was in for bigger troubles.

Now that I was going to be Aiden’s hand maiden.

How was I going to hide the fact that my hands could not only heal but It seemed that more powers that I couldn’t understand was slowly revealing itself.

Getting out of control.

How was I going to get out of this mess?
