Madison laughed, leaning back in her chair with an air of careless laziness.
Her elbow rested on the armrest, her eyes seeming to flirt yet hide mockery.
She teased. “You look alike, but the feel is vastly different.”
She had once touched Alpha Bentley’s face and was slapped for it, met with his furious “Get out!”

She called the wolf guard captain, Lacius.
“Lacius,” she ordered, “bring Cassius’s wife and sons here. Lock them in the basement. Disfigure Cassius before them, then kill them all. Let the family die together.”
Lacius took the order but glanced at Rosa.
She looked worried but said nothing.
The wolf guard captain had no choice but to comply and stepped back.
Seeing Madison still seething with anger, Rosa sighed. “I’ll bring you a drink.”
After Madison stormed out, Rosa caught up with Laciùs. “Wait.”
“Yes,” Lacius greeted.
“Princess Madison’s orders are fickle. If we really scar his face and she blames us later, what then? Finding another face so alike will be impossible,” Lacius said in a hushed voice.
“I know the past two years have been tough for you all with the ever–changing orders causing you much distress and punishment. For now, keep Cassius in the basement dungeon. As for his wife and sons, take them there as she commanded, but wait a couple of days before acting further. If she still insists, proceed then, Rosa replied.
Lacius fretted, “If I defy her now and she’s angry, you must protect us.”
I will. I’ll reason with her once she’s calmer,” Rosa assured him.
Relieved, Lacius said, “Thanks, Rosa. I trust you.”
“Go,” Rosa said with a smile
