“Did you find her?” Polar asked one of his men who shook their head. He knew firing a shit when they weren’t close to her was a terrible idea. Now she was missing.
But how can one woman just disappear in a room where there were no exit? No one had left the room, he could still see her family members around. Xavier Bloodsworth was standing before his brother and wife as if trying to protect them, while his eyes also searched for his daughter and her bodyguard.
“Uncle let’s go before it’s too late. I don’t think Penny’s here.” Sofie said behind Xavier trembling. It hurt her that she man she wanted to be married to, was not in the hall here to protect her.
He probably had ran away with Penny. But she was scared because she had seen them shoot him.
Landon is meant to be married to her tomorrow. She had prepared everything for the wedding. Her father and uncle were both here to talk some sense into him and now he’s shot. Sofie felt like she was losing it.
She hoped Penny would try to save him, and not rely on a wounded man for help too.
“You better be right Sofie.” Xavier said.
“Did you see her anywhere uncle? I think they’re gone. If we stay here any longer, we might die too.” Sofie cried out. She wanted to see Landon. She wanted to know he was fine.
“But the exit doors are blocked. How do we leave?” Barry asked and they all didn’t know what to do anymore.
Another shot was fired by Polar’s men, “Everyone, lie on the floor!” The man yelled firing another shot and everyone immediately laid on the floor, including Xavier who didn’t want to. Especially when he saw Polar.
He knew what the man was here for. It’s the same thing he had done to Dewitt Adkins. The same visit. This time, it was happening to his child.
“Xavier, don’t draw attention to us so that we don’t get treated unfairly.” Barry dragged his brother down with him and forced him to hide his face on the floor.
“What if they find my child? They’re going to take her away.” Xavier said. For the first time in his life, Barry could see fear on his elder brothers face. Penny was his life.
It’s so unfortunate he had found her late, and now she’s all grown and cannot be controlled. But he still loves her. She’s still his little angel no matter the age.
“She’ll be fine brother. Landon is more than capable of protecting her. That man is very sneaky.” Barry said trying to cheer his brother, but he knew that was not working at all.
He was scared too for Penny. This people were evil and once they have you, you’re never seeing the light of the day every again. They’ll milk you and drive you to the brink of madness. It’s the reason Dewitt had made his son mad.
“Let’s hope he does.” Xavier said.
Polar started moving among the people, when he got to a corner, he saw a lab coat on the floor. He frowned.
Polar picked the coat and inhaled it and his frown deepened. “It was a feminine scent. He turned it around, to see Doctor Pen boldly written on it. He looked around and saw an exit. The one they had all not seen before.
A tiny exist that didn’t look like an exit at all. How did they not see this before. The woman. He was searching for had escaped. And the man they shot… Why was he not there?
Polar cocked his gun and stepped out through the exit only to arrive outside. The moment he stepped out, he heard gunshot sounding in the hall. Heavy gunshot that didn’t sound like they belonged to his people.
He peeped from the tiny door to see men in grey army attire killing his men.
The Adkins armies…
They scattered the flesh of his people with their unusual guns.
Polar held himself from screaming and ran out to hide somewhere.
“Did you find him?” One of them asked and the others shook his head.
“Has he escaped?” A third asked.
“Make sure he doesn’t. Master Osvaldo will kill us if we don’t bring him alive.” The man said.
“SHIT! We’re in deep trouble.” The other said as they moved around quickly, killing all of Polar’s men on sight.
Darlington who was on the floor crying and praying to anything he knew to save him, raised his head to search for Xavier and the rest but he could no longer find them around. All he saw was people crying on the floor, trembling and bad men killing others.
Have Xavier and the rest left him? Did they really go without him?
Darlington was not as tough as his son or his brothers who are now dead. He had always been the… Let’s say pussy of his family.
The coward who runs away from fight. It’s the only way he’s been able to live this long.
“Master Darlington.” Someone touched his shoulder and when he lifted his head, he saw Timothy standing before him. The Adkins head lawyer was wearing a black suit. For the first time, Darlington felt happy seeing Timothy. The same person he always called a fool.
Willy and Treadwell went ahead to help Xavier and the rest from where they laid. “Everything’s over now Mr Bloodsworth.” Treadwell said.
“Where’s my daughter?” Xavier asked.
“She’s resting at how now. She asked us to save you.” Treadwell said calmly. Xavier let out a sigh. He had forgotten his little baby was also an Adkins. They never play with their own.
Even though she’s divorced the madheir, he was carrying the Adkins future heir.
“It’s unfortunate we didn’t catch Polar and he might be back in the future, but for now, let’s celebrate saving you. At least no one was hurt.” Treadwell said leading them out of the building.
The Adkins armies, led the remaining people out. It’s a blessing no lives were lost in the process and everyone seemed fine. Maybe a little terrified. A lot terrified.
Infact, the day was later changed to the worst day in the country even though only the terrorist died. Leaving the country and coming in became so strict and difficult for most people.

“I don’t understand.” Penny said to Osvaldo still checking the part of his body they had shot. She could have sworn she had seen the bullet pierce in him.
“It turns out I’m now immune to dying by any weapon and poison.” Osvaldo said.
“Is it because of the chemicals used in treating you?” He nodded gently at her words and Penny sighed. She had almost died out there thinking she had lost him. She didn’t know what she’d do if anything had happened to him.
“I’m fine now. Drink more of the tea.” Osvaldo said calmly, but she immediately started crying. “I love you Osvaldo. I don’t know what I’d have done if I lost you.” Penny cried even more.
“You’ll never loose me. At least not unnaturally.” He pulled her close into a warm hug and Penny hugged him back. After a moment Penny wiped her tears and pulled out of his embrace.
“My family, I don’t know if they’re fine.”
“They are. And they’ll be home soon.” She did bother looking at him. They both knew what that meant. In a few hours, Osvaldo will be forced to marry Sofie and he’ll no longer be hers ever again.
“Remember our plan Osvaldo. You cannot say no to them. Else I’ll never be able to see you again.” Penny said.
“So you want me to be with someone else?” Penny was silent as Osvaldo was.
Both people sat in silence staring into space. They both had no idea when the door of the lounge burst open to Xavier and the rest of the family walking in.
“Penny!” Xavier called.
“Landon.” Sofie called and rushed to him. She hugged him to tight, kissing all over his face.
“I was so scared something bad will happen to you. I’m glad you’re fine hubby.” Sofie said.
“How are the babies?” Darlington asked Penny who said nothing. She was heartbroken but didn’t know how to say it. Could she tell her family she has also fallen in love with the bodyguard. But wouldn’t that be betraying her cousin?
Penny started crying again and Osvaldo clenched his hands into a fist. He didn’t think he could keep up with the lies anymore. His Penguin was hurting, that’s the last thing he wanted.
Anyone who hurts his Penguin dies, yet he was the one hurting her.
“She’s still in shock, we should take her into the room to rest.” Hughes nodded and helped Penny up the stairs.
“Can we talk about the marriage now?” Penny could hear Sofie’s voice from behind them and she was even more heartbroken.
When she reached her bedroom, Hughes closed the door behind them.
“Miss Penny, will you allow it?” Hughes asked.
“Is there another choice?” Penny asked.
Even though Hughes didn’t like her master, she has always wanted him for his mistress, marrying another person was not on her bingo card. She wondered what Xavier would do if he found out, the man he didn’t want for his daughter was the same man he was convincing to marry his niece.
