When Penny woke up the next morning with the usual morning sickness which is supposed to be over weeks ago, but because of the stress she’s been through last night. It had affected her grately.

Penny sighed as she got out of bed. She was to lose everything she had today. She felt devastated for telling Osvaldo to marry Sofie, but it’s the only way they could still be together.

What a dumb decision she had made. Her Osvaldo now belonged to someone else. Penny wiped her tears, her tummy twirling the more she thought about it.

The sudden knock on the door dragged her from her thoughts and she quickly wiped her tears.

“Come in.” Hughes stepped in with new sheets.

“Good morning Miss Penny.” She said but Penny only nodded and she understood why. She was feeling quite bad too and her master hadn’t even stepped out of his room all morning.

“Breakfast will be with the entire family this morning because miss Sofie had a wonderful announcement to make after her long talk with Master Osvaldo last night.” Hughes sighed.

Penny only nodded and stepped out of the room. They had already talked?

Hughes went ahead to change the sheets, she didn’t want to intervene just as her miss Penny has asked, else, she would have asked Darlington for his help. Both her master Osvaldo and her Miss Penny where making the biggest mistakes of their lives.

When Penny reached the dining room, she was greeted by the entire family on the table, including Osvaldo who they never allow to seat with them. Beside him was Sofie, smiling and clinging onto him like he would varnish if she didn’t.

Penny tried not to act hurt. Osvaldo had his usual face mask, so she couldn’t tell if he was happy or as dejected as she was.

“Good morning father, uncle, aunty, grandpa.” Penny tried to greet happily but each trial failed. She was too heartbroken to be happy. She didn’t peg Darlingtons cheeks as usual which he noticed and frowned.

His granddaughter in law must have been terrified after last night.

“You still seem stressed from last night.” Darlington said and Penny smiled, finding her way to her seat. Darlington stared at her with narrowed eyes. Something was hurting her and he couldn’t quite put his finger around it.

Sofie stared at her cousin with a knowing smile as she cling tighter to Osvaldo.

“Part of our breakfast gathering morning is to finalize the wedding arrangements for Sofie’s wedding with Landon.” Xavier spoke with that authoritative voice. He didn’t know what was wrong with his niece, but he hoped she gets back to her senses quickly before things get out of hand.

“Are you sure you want to be with Landon Sofie. Marriage isn’t something you can just jump into you ha…”

“Yes mother.” Sofie cut in and Mary frowned. Penny pressed her lips together.

“What do you say Landon. It’s obvious our child has taken a liking towards you. And in my family, I give my children whatever they ask.” Xavier turned to Osvaldo.

“You can start by taking the mask off first. Noatyer how hideous you look, you should at least have respect for the family.” Barry suddenly said and those pair of blue eyes met his.

“I’m not comfortable with him taking off the mask. I’ve seen it and it’s awful. My babies don’t like it.” Penny suddenly said and the entire family nodded gently. Sofie smiled.

“I’ve seen it too, Penny’s right.” Sofie added feeling left out. She had begged Osvaldo to show her his face all through the night but he refused.

She wanted him last night and had gone into his room. It’s been so long since she’s been with anyone and finding a man that was acting so hard to get, he turned her on immediately.

“I can be anything for you Landon. I’m good in bed better than any woman you’ve been with.” Sofie recalled her words and the shame that followed after and closed her eyes.

Landon had rejected her even though she was naked before his eyes. He told her he wasn’t attracted to her in anyway, but he loved someone else.

She looked at those pair of blue eyes and the other pair of blue eyes staring at each other. Was her sister the woman Landon had spoken about?

Was Penny in love again?

“… We’re willing to give you all of Sofie’s inheritance. Since she’s so irresponsible, and you are, you will be in charge.” Barry said trying to buy the man even though he just clearly said he didn’t want to marry Sofie.

Little did they know, they were bidding with the world’s richest man.

“I bet you’ve never seen such money in your life.” Mary said.

“I haven’t. But I’m not that desperate. I love my job here.” Landon said calmly. Penny watched him, he was going against what they planned. But she knew he wouldn’t win against her family without revealing who he was. And she couldn’t go against her family for him…

Her father will surely send him out. She tried communicating with their gazes, but Osvaldo pulled his eyes from her. He didn’t want to be with anyone else. His penguin clearly was not thinking straight. Did she think he was someone she could toss aside the way she liked?

They had greater enemies to fight together and she was more worried about her family?

Hell, even her family cannot protect her from Polar and his people. He had say in the conference room with them. Those men are super powerful. His head twitched as his anger rised. He didn’t like what he heard one bit.

This people tend to forget who they were seated before. Not even ten thousand armies can take his Penguin away from him.

“Then you’re no longer allowed to work here until you marry my child.” Xavier said blankly and Osvaldo smiled. But his smile didn’t show because it was hidden in his mask. His eyes dimmed and Penny panicked. She knew what that was.

“Father…” Xavier raised his hands at his child, his eyes on the guard, waiting to see if he would challenge him. To him he had all the money and power to silence him however he wanted. Landon was no match for him.

“Landon just accept.” Penny said trying to avoid him losing his mind again. He had told her he was fine now, but why was he slowly losing his mind again?

“Look at the disgrace you’ve caused us Sofie. The man you want to marry is not even interested in you in anyway.” Sofie pressed her lips together and Penny felt bad for her sister. She hadn’t expected that things would turn out this way.

“There’s nothing shameful about loving Aunty. Sofie has done nothing wrong.” Penny defended her.

“You say you love protecting Penelope. Your only way of staying is to marry her sister. What’s so hard about it?” Darlington said and somewhere in the background Hughes wished he had never said it.

Darlington didn’t like the young man Landon because he felt like he was getting too close to Penny. Even though Penny and Osvaldo were seperate for now, she was a part of the Adkins family. He didn’t want their bloodline tainted with another.

When he learnt Sofie was interested in the young man, he had been elated. That was enough distraction. If only he knew he was working against his previous grandson.

Hughes stood by the side watching the tension rise in the room. Her heart was in her ass this time as she watched her master tackle the Xavier brothers.

“My Sofie is beautiful. She’s educated, very well talented. She’s a good cook. She would be the best wife because she has the best mother. Why do you not want a woman with these qualities?” Barry asked confused. No man has ever rejected being a part of the Bloodsworth family.

“I love someone else. She doesn’t need to be a good cook, I can cook for us both. She’s more talented and more beautiful than miss Sofie. I’m sorry if I berate you in anyway Sofie. It’s not my intention. I love my woman. No one else can replace her.” Xavier scoffed at the madness displayed before him.

“Love?” He laughed.

Who in the world still loved? His daughter did and look where she’s ended.

“That’s enough!” Sofie suddenly said. “There’s no need forcing Landon to marry me, I’m dumping him first.” She said.
