Chapter 293 Meltdown in Miami
Back at the Wolfe estate, a certain seven-year-old was having an epic meltdown.
“Grandpa! Dad’s the worst! He totally lied to me!”
Alpha Hunter rubbed his temples. He’d been trying to calm Orion down for the past twenty minutes, but the kid was absolutely losing it. The little boy was pacing around the marble foyer like a caged tiger, his NASA suitcase still sitting by the front door where he’d left it.
“I don’t care about anything! I wanna go too! Grandpa, call the airline! Buy me a ticket right now! I need to find my mom!”
Alpha Hunter crouched down to his grandson’s eye level, his knees protesting slightly. “Orion, buddy, listen to me. Your parents haven’t had alone time since you were born. They need this trip together.”
“I don’t care about their stupid romantic getaway!” Orion’s face was tomato red, fat tears rolling down his cheeks. “Dad promised we were all going! He’s a big fat liar!”
Alpha Hunter sighed deeply. He’d always thought Alpha Dominic was the manipulative one in the family.
Turns out both his sons had inherited that particular talent. How the hell had he survived raising two scheming wolves?
“Your dad called the airline. He’s booking you a seat on tomorrow’s afternoon flight,” Alpha Hunter said gently. “I’ll drive you to the airport myself and make sure you get on that plane. Deal?”
“No way! I wanna leave right now! Tonight!”
Orion was full-on sobbing now, his voice cracking with pure seven-year-old rage. “Dad’s being so mean! He’s totally bullying me!”
He wiped his runny nose with the back of his sleeve, absolutely furious. “Tomorrow when I see Mom, I’m telling her everything. EVERYTHING. I’m gonna make her divorce Dad and then we’ll move somewhere far away where he can’t find us!”
Alpha Hunter had to bite his lip to keep from laughing. The kid was definitely a Wolfe. “Alright, buddy. You go ahead and try that.”
—
Inside the oceanfront suite at The Fontainebleau, floor-to-ceiling windows showed the endless stretch of South Beach going all the way to the Atlantic.
The humid Miami air smelled like salt and jasmine as she sat on the private terrace. She could stay out here all night instead of going back inside to deal with whatever Yardley had planned.
“Feel like cooling off?” Yardley asked. His voice had that edge that always made her pulse speed up.
Nancy shook her head. “Night swimming? I’ve watched enough Dateline to know how that ends.”
Yardley’s eyes glinted. “I’ll keep you safe, sweetheart.”
“Promise?”
“I swam competitively for eight years.” His grin turned wolfish. “Plus my senses are sharper than most people’s.”
Something primitive shivered down her spine.
Nancy went back inside to change. She opened her weekender bag and found the smallest triangle bikini she had ever seen. Barely enough fabric to cover a postage stamp.
She froze.
“Like what you see?” Yardley drawled from the doorway.
Nancy held up the tiny swimsuit. “This is what passes for swimwear?”
“Miami Beach, baby.”
Nancy knew how this game worked. But wearing this nothing-bikini while Yardley prowled around like he wanted to eat her alive? Heat crawled up her neck and settled low in her belly.
After she changed, she found Yardley already in the infinity pool. It looked like it merged with the dark ocean.
The water hit just below her chest as she slipped in.
She dove under. Cut through the water. Her hair trailed behind her.
Yardley tracked every movement. He sliced through the water after her.
Suddenly her leg seized up. A nasty cramp shot through her hamstring.
Before she could yell, Yardley was there. Too fast. His arms locked around her chest.
“Easy. I’ve got you.”
He guided her to the shallow end. Lifted her onto the pool edge like she weighed nothing.
His hands worked the knot in her muscle. His eyes scanned her face. “Better?”
“Getting there,” she breathed.
Water droplets caught the moonlight on his chest. Her skin glowed against the dark tile.
Yardley’s control snapped.
He grabbed her face and kissed her hard. His tongue slid against hers. Salt and want. Nancy’s fingers tangled in his wet hair. She pulled him closer. Her body arched into his.
His mouth left hers and trailed down her throat. His teeth grazed her pulse point. That almost-feral edge made her gasp. Lower. His tongue traced along her collarbone. Then down between her breasts.
“Yardley.”
He pulled the string of her bikini top loose with his teeth. The fabric fell away. Warm night air hit her bare skin.
His mouth closed over her nipple. She cried out.
Her back arched off the tile as he sucked slow and deep. His tongue circled until she was trembling.
“Someone could see us,” she whispered. Her voice was already wrecked.
“Does that turn you on?”
He switched to the other side. Same wet, lingering attention.
His hand slid down her stomach. He didn’t bother with the tiny scrap of fabric — just pushed it aside and slid his fingers inside her.
He didn’t ask. He just pushed inside her.
Nancy bit her lip so hard she tasted blood.
His thumb pressed against her clit while his fingers moved inside her. Slow and deep. Curling just right.
Her hips started rocking against his hand.
“Look at you,” he murmured against her breast.
“Yardley, please…” She didn’t even know what she was asking for.
He pushed her legs wider and lowered his head. His mouth replaced his fingers. His tongue slid through her wet folds. Nancy’s whole body jerked like she’d been shocked.
“Oh god,” she gasped. She grabbed his hair.
He laughed against her.
The vibration sent shockwaves through her. He licked and sucked like he had all night. Like her pleasure was the only thing that mattered.
His tongue circled her clit until she was gasping his name. Her thighs trembled on either side of his head.
She came with a strangled cry. Her body shuddered as he kept going. Drawing it out until she was oversensitive and pushing at his shoulders.
“Yardley.” Her voice came out husky. “Someone could actually see us out here.”
Yardley lifted his head. His eyes were dark and hungry in the moonlight. He looked at her like she was the only thing worth looking at.
He laughed. Low and dirty. “Then we better take this inside.”
He stood up in one smooth motion. Scooped her off the tile.
Nancy wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her through the glass doors.
He laid her down on the king-sized bed. The silk sheets were cool against her wet skin. His body followed. Covered hers. She could feel every inch of him pressing against her.
His mouth found hers again. Hungrier this time. His hand slid down her stomach and yanked her bottoms off. She was already soaked. He could feel it.
“Look at you,” he said against her lips. “So wet for me.”
He pushed her legs apart and lined himself up. He didn’t make her wait. He pushed in, all the way, and they both groaned.
He fucked her slow at first. Deep and hard. Each stroke hit somewhere that made her gasp. He watched her face the whole time. Watched her fall apart.
“Come on, baby,” he said, his voice rough. “I want to feel you come on my cock.”
She was already close. She came with a cry, her body tightening around him. He followed right after, his hips slamming into hers as he let go.
They lay there after, breathing hard.
