At Cloudscape Estate in Ferrowland.
Dan Murray sat on the wooden balcony, a cigar between his fingers, his gaze fixed on a car speeding up the winding mountain road.
The headlights were blinding, the speed reckless.
Carroll appeared respectfully behind him. “Boss, Leroy called again. He said the old man isn’t doing well.”
“How isn’t he doing well?” Dan asked coldly.
He showed zero concern for his father’s suffering. An outsider might have assumed they had no relationship at all.
Perhaps they once shared a father-son bond, but Derek Murray had buried that connection with his own two hands.
Because of that, no one could blame Dan for his current indifference.
Carroll replied, “He was provoked by Ms. Tucker. She kept reminding him of his infertility.”
“He’s never going to shake that reality for the rest of his life. What’s so hard to accept?”
Carroll was speechless.
What a thing to say… This was about a man’s ultimate pride. How could anyone easily accept that?!
“I’m not a doctor,” Dan continued. “If I go back, does it magically prove he can have kids?”
His frustration over Yvonne Quinn had drained whatever little patience he possessed.
Carroll remained silent.
If Derek heard those words, he’d probably have a heart attack!
Before they could say another word, a dangerous gust of wind swept in from behind them. Carroll reacted instantly, turning to block the attack.
Instead, a brutal blow landed on his stomach, sending him flying off the wooden balcony with a heavy thud!
Dan’s breathing hitched. He spun around, meeting Xander Schultz’s icy glare.
Kyle shot Xander a look, then jumped down from the balcony to stop Carroll from calling for backup.
A cold smirk tugged at the corner of Dan’s mouth. “Why so desperate?”
Xander’s gaze turned predatory.
He lunged forward, throwing a vicious punch. Dan was no pushover and fought back immediately.
The two men tangled in a brutal brawl. Xander hadn’t trained all
e years for nothing. Within a few

moves he landed two sofra hooks
on Dan’s face
His fists were fast and ruthless.
Just as Xander wound up for another crushing blow, Dan caught his fist. “That’s enough.”
“You shouldn’t have seen her alone,” Xander growled.
Given Dan and Yvonne’s history, Xander was terrified they might rekindle their
romance.
Even though Dan’s past actions were utterly repulsive…
That relationship had left an unforgettable mark on Yvonne!
Wiping the blood from his mouth, Dan’s smirk widened into a mocking smile. What? Feeling insecure about a relationship you swooped into when she was vulnerable?
That remark earned him another vicious punch to the face.

Meanwhile, Yvonne was fast asleep.
Groggily answering a call from Shawn Schultz, she mumbled, “What did you say? Xander got beaten up by Dan?”
“Yeah, it’s brutal,” Shawn lied smoothly. “You need to come quickly, Yvonne. He went to see Dan alone. It’s definitely not going to end well.”
Knowing that Xander had flown into a jealous rage and refused backup… Shawn was genuinely worried about him getting hurt. That’s why he called Yvonne, exaggerating the situation to get her there!
Yvonne sat up in bed, rubbing her sleepy eyes. “He got beaten up? Are you sure?”
“Positive! Hurry up and save him. You know how jealous he gets; we couldn’t stop him.”
Yvonne fell silent.
The mention of Xander’s jealousy woke her up completely. She had to admit, the man was insanely territorial.
But for him to go out and beat up Dan… was this what her mother meant by being transparent?
