Grace’s heart sank, thinking, ‘Judging from his words, it’s obvious that he doesn’t remember anything.” She comforted him patiently, saying, “Don’t be scared. I’m here, and I’ll always be with you. Can you tell me what dream you had just now?”
Brian frowned and said, “I dreamed of a man dying in front of me, but I couldn’t see his face clearly.” “A man died in front of you?” Grace said.
She thought about it carefully, but she could not recall any man who had died in front of Brian.
She thought, ‘Perhaps it was something that happened before I knew him.’
“Honey, I don’t dare to sleep,” Brian said. “I want cake.”
Grace looked at him in surprise, saying, “You want to eat cake?”
She remembered that Brian did not like eating cake. Even on his birthday, he did not buy cake, and he rarely ate sweets.
“Are you sure you want cake?” she asked. “But you never liked cake in the past.”
Brian nodded and said, “I want to eat.”
Grace thought, ‘Probably due to amnesia, his preferences have changed too.’
“I’ll go buy it for you then,” she said. “Wait for me here.”
Brian glanced outside. It was pitch black. He held Grace’s hand and said, “I’ll go with you.”
Looking at his obedient appearance, Grace smiled, and she could not help but stroke his hair. “Okay,” she said.
There was a 24-hour convenience store downstairs in the hospital. Grace bought him a packet of small cakes.
While she was paying, she pointed at the lollipops that were inserted into a stand on the cashier counter and asked, “Do you like eating candy?”
“I do,” Brian said.
Grace bought a bunch of lollipops and walked back to the ward.
Brian ate the candy and lay on the hospital bed, no longer sleepy.
“Honey, tell me a story,” he said.
“Alright,” Grace said. She casually told the story of the Big Bad Wolf.
Unexpectedly, Brian covered his ears halfway and said, “I don’t want to hear this.”

The principal sized her up and asked, “Where’s your ID? Please show it.”
