Chapter 837
Grace said, “Serena has been detained. I’ll bail her out.”
Brian frowned and stood up. “I’ll go with you. If you go by yourself, who knows how much trouble you’ll have to go through to get her out.”
“Okay.” The two of them soon arrived at the jail.
When Brian was in the car, he had already made a call to settle everything. As soon as he arrived at the jail, he explained the situation and quickly brought Serena out.
When Grace saw Serena on the ground, her eyes widened in surprise. She turned around and looked at the police officer behind her. “Why didn’t you put a thick shirt on her?”
Glancing at the bed, she was even angrier. “You didn’t even give her a blanket. Are you trying to freeze her to death?”
Brian patted her shoulder and gestured for her to calm down. “Take her out first.’ Grace said, “Serena, wake up.”
Serena opened her eyes and looked at Grace. A pale smile appeared on her face. “You’re here.”
Grace wanted to help her up, but she realized that Serena could not stand up at all.
Brian squatted down. “Let me carry her out.”
“Okay.” Grace went to get Serena’s clothes and left the jail.
In the car, after the heater was turned on for a while, Serena finally came back to life.
Grace fed her some water before asking, “Why are you in jail?”
Serena said weakly, “It’s a long story, Grace. I’m so hungry.”
“Okay, we’ll talk about it after we get home for dinner.” When they got home, Serena wolfed down two plates of food before she regained some strength.
Grace found her a change of clothes and asked her to take a shower. Then, she brought her to the guest room. “Now can you tell me what happened?”
Serena sat on the bed with the blanket wrapped around her. After a long silence, she said in a hoarse voice, “I’m married to Justin.”
Grace was stunned for a long time.
“You didn’t hear wrongly. We’ve registered our marriage, but we’re a fake couple,” Serena said with a smile.
As she laughed, a hot tear suddenly slid down her cheek.
Grace looked at her. “You love Justin very much, right?”
Serena looked at her in surprise. “Am I that obvious?”
“When you like someone, your feelings will come out of your eyes.” Grace took a tissue and handed it to her.
Serena cried and said, “But I really like him. Although we’re just acting in his eyes, I want to treat his family as my own. I want to be a real couple with him. But I know that as long as I cross the line, I won’t even be able to remain friends with him.”
Grace sighed. “Serena, the Vance family is very complicated. Justin is Zachary’s illegitimate child. Sharon and Ethan are not good people.
Justin’s a doctor now, so he ne

threat to them. Once he has ambitions, the siblings won’t care about their kinship. So, if you want to be with him, it’s best not to come into contact with anyone from the Vance family.”
Serena nodded and said self-deprecatingly, “I’ve already suffered the consequences.”
She told Grace about Sharon framing her.
Grace said, “This is too much! You have to tell Justin about this!”
Serena shook her head. “Everything between us is fake. I don’t want him to be in a difficult position.”
“You mean you’re not going to tell Justin?” Grace looked at her in disbelief.
