Lucas shifted uneasily. “I’ve turned him down a few times, but he insists on coming here in person. He said he’ll be here in three days.”

“Go!” Theresa kicked him out, then turned to find Bennie staring at her, wearing a faint smile.

After leaving Bennie’s place, Theresa inspected the camp and then visited the school. Everything was thriving.
As the climate warmed, the worst three years of the apocalypse were behind them. Land productivity was improving, and agricultural output steadily increased.
In her past life, the harsh climate had destroyed any chance for human development in the eastern region, leaving them completely on the defensive against zombies. This time, that problem was solved.
On the industrial front, all residents contributed to production, transport, and assembly.
