Looking for The Apocalyptic Queen Theresa Chapter 611

Chapter 611

Chapter 610 Call It Even
Sage’s eyes narrowed as he shot Theresa a glare. “Don’t act innocent, Theresa! You blindsided me first–I only fought back because you came at me!”
“Cut the crap!” she snapped. “Like you didn’t lay a hand on Quentin? If you hadn’t tried screwing us over, I wouldn’t have had to turn it back on you!”
“You swore you’d have my back, and then you ditched me! Don’t think I couldn’t tell–you were just feeding me empty promises!” he roared.
Theresa’s face twisted with rage. She yanked him forward by the collar, her eyes blazing red with hatred. “D*mn right I regret it! Helping you was the dumbest thing I’ve ever done. I should’ve let you rot with the zombies in Crestmont, like the ungrateful b*stard you are!”
She wound up and drove her fist into his stomach. Sage doubled over, his skin draining of color. He clamped his jaw shut and forced himself not to make a sound.
A shuffle of boots echoed from the hallway, cutting through the silence. “Where’s your officer?” someone barked. “In the restroom,” came the reply.
“We’ll head in. Gotta take a leak.” Theresa froze, her pulse kicking up. She turned sharply toward Quentin. “Move them–inside, quick!” He didn’t waste a second. He grabbed the unconscious men by the shoulders and dragged them into the farthest stall, slamming the door shut as quietly as he could.
Theresa grabbed Sage by the arm and slipped into the next stall. They barely had time to breathe before the door creaked open and heavy footsteps filled the room, as a group of men wandered in.
The sound of running water and zippers filled the room a moment later. One of them didn’t stop at the urinals–he headed straight for the stalls at the back. He gave Quentin’s stall a shove. Locked. Then he tried Theresa’s. Also locked.
He grumbled under his breath, “D*mn, didn’t know the place was this packed today,” then slid over to the next stall, found it free, and stepped inside.
Meanwhile, inside their cramped hiding spot, Theresa and Sage were locked in a deadly standoff. Her fingers were clamped tight around his throat, every muscle in her arm trembling with rage–one twitch from him and she’d snap.
Sage didn’t flinch. His expression stayed calm, eyes locked on hers. Suddenly, a faint clatter broke the tension–a crumpled pack of tissues rolled under the divider and came to a stop right by Theresa’s foot.
She froze, startled, but before she could react, Sage suddenly grabbed her, hoisting her off the

floor. Her feet dangled, brushing against his knees. An arm reached under the partition, fumbling blindly for the tissues.

A voice followed, casual but curious. “Mr. Arlen? Are you in there?” The guy must’ve spotted Sage’s shoes–he recognized them on sight. Sage kept one arm tight around Theresa and lowered his voice to a gravelly murmur. “Yeah.”
“Our administrator is waiting outside. The shipment should be ready to go,” the man in the stall called out midstream. Mid–sentence, he suddenly froze. A sharp voice buzzed through his earpiece.
He spoke in astonishment, “What do you mean it’s gone? Copy that. I’m on level three now. I’ll check it out right away!” Without another word, the man zipped up, yanked the door open, and bolted out. “Move! Now”
Theresa stayed still until the echo of footsteps finally faded down the hallway. The tension in her chest eased a little. And then Sage’s voice came low and smug. “Guess that’s twice I’ve bailed you out. A little gratitude wouldn’t kill you.”
She just stared at him, speechless. She shoved him off her, dropping from his arms and yanking her hand away from his throat. The stall door banged open as she stepped out. Quentin called from his stall, “Beautiful, time to move?”
“Yeah. We’re pulling out!” she snapped back. But before she could take a step, Sage came out of the stall behind her, rubbing at his neck with a faint smirk. “Not so fast. You’re not walking out of here clean. The shipment’s gone. They’ll seal this place up tighter than a vault in five minutes. You can sneak in, sure–but getting out? Not happening.”
Theresa’s expression darkened, suspicion flickering in her eyes. “Come with me,” he said evenly. “I can get you clear.” She glared at him, her guard still up. The look she gave him could’ve cut steel.
He met her stare without blinking. “Don’t act like I’m the only one who’s crossed a line here. You killed my men; I took Tania. Call it even.” That set her off–her hands curled into fists again, anger flashing in her eyes like a spark ready to burn.
“I can point you toward your aunt,” he said evenly. “Come back with me to the office, and you’ll see what I mean. After that, we’re square. Debt settled. Don’t go saying I forgot the favor you once did me.”
Her eyes flickered with sudden hope. She studied his face–that cool, detached look, no fake warmth, no empty promises. For once, he wasn’t performing.
“So what’s the plan? How do we get out?” she asked quietly. He didn’t answer right away. Instead, he turned toward the door and gave two sharp claps. Moments later, three men stepped in.
Theresa’s breath hitched when she recognized one of them. “Drew?” She hadn’t expected to see
