Hannah crashed onto the ground, dazed. Clutching her burning cheek, she froze when a sharp. coppery stench of blood hit her nose.

Everyone who had been glued to the quarrel turned toward the corner. The corpse that had been lying lifeless was now being ripped apart by a woman, who tore into the flesh with ravenous bites.
The woman raised her head at the noise.
Her face was smeared with gore, her eyes dull and lifeless.
“Whitney’s turned into a zombie!”
The woman standing nearest shrieked in terror.
She could see everything up close-the way Whitney clawed into the corpse’s stomach like a starving beast digging for scraps, muscle and sinew flopping out, slick intestines spilling onto the ground, organs shredded and chewed.

He pulled out the gun at his side, ready to fire-when a cold voice rang out from across the way.
