Drew unlocked his tablet, fingers moving fast across the screen.
The monitor came alive with walls of images.
The company’s surveillance spread like a net, thousands of cameras blinking across every zone. A single factory wing had more than a thousand eyes.
Drew tapped into Workshop 1. The feeds were black. Just as the opposition had claimed, not a single frame remained.
His face darkened. Whoever had done this wanted blood. They had spent big, all to trap them.
He jumped to other sectors.
His gut twisted when another feed showed nothing but darkness.
His heart sank.
It was the security booth.
“There! You all see it! The problem’s right there!” The lead supervisor’s voice cracked with triumph. “It’s inside your booth!”
Every gaze locked on the empty guard station frozen on the screen.
The Workshop 1 manager’s eyes burned with glee. He stormed forward with his crew. “Move out! The goods are in there!”
Sage’s gentle expression shattered into stone.
Drew and his team surged forward, cutting them off like a wall.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing? Mr. Arlen just got nailed, and you still want to shield him? ”
The other side sneered, their smirks sharp and vicious. They wanted Sage destroyed.
Sage stepped ahead, his face unreadable.
“Let them open it up, Mr. Arlen,” the Workshop 1 manager mocked. His grin was jagged. “If you play along, maybe you can claim ignorance later. Maybe the higher–ups will show mercy if the cargo is untouched.” His men stomped to the suspicious floorboard. Drew threw his arm out to

The Workshop 1 manager and his lead man looked broken. Their faces twisted through colors, panic blotting them raw. The manager’s eyes locked on his subordinate like knives.
The man could only sputter, eyes wide and helpless.
Sage’s tone turned smooth, soft as silk. “Mr. Bazinger, is there anything you’d like to add?”
The balance of power flipped in a single instant.
The manager stammered, voice thin. “Mr. Arlen, this is… it’s a misunderstanding.”
Sage’s stare was ice cold. “A third of the company’s cargo is gone. That is no misunderstanding. Guards, take Mr. Bazinger. I’ll report once questioning is done.”
Bazinger’s swagger crumbled. He fell to his knees, begging. “Mr. Arlen! Sage, I’m pleading with you! Don’t arrest me!”

Baringer’s body shook like a leaf. His cries grew louder. “Sage! Sage! I am sorry! I swear I won’t do it again! Don’t report me! Spare me this once!”
Sage raised his hand, his order firm. “Take him.”
As they dragged him away, Bazinger’s pleas broke into venom. His voice cracked as he spat curses. “D*mm you, mutt! May you die alone! May your flesh be ripped apart and eaten until nothing is left!
His screams echoed down the hall, foul and endless.
In the crowd, Theresa covered a yawn. Her lips curved in a faint, knowing smile.
When Sage had the Workshop 1 manager and his crew seized, he turned his eyes on the stunned sea of guards. A faint smile touched his lips.
He walked away with long, even strides.
By late afternoon, the truth spilled out.
The lead supervisor confessed first.
He had bribed a guard gifted with spatial control. That guard killed the cameras and smuggled the goods, planning to frame Sage and his men.
But even they couldn’t explain why the stash vanished.
Sage ordered a sweep of every inch inside and out. The search turned up nothing. He closed the case with a crisp report.
