Chapter 1115

[ 545 words ]

Every time Skye thought about how she was still single while watching Finley fumble

his own love life, it infuriated her enough to launch another assault.

Finley felt entirely wronged. “I was just busy, so I asked Tegan to grab me something to eat. What’s wrong with that?”

He really didn’t think a simple favor would trigger such a massive reaction from

Skye.

Working in a hospital, wasn’t it normal to grab food for each other?

Why was his hot-tempered sister making it out to be a federal crime?

“Then why didn’t you get food for her?”

“If she was busy, I definitely would have.”

“Do you have rocks in your head?”

“Look, I just…”

“Is she just another one of your coworkers? She’s the woman you like! You’re supposed to be pursuing her.”

“Yeah, I know.”

He wanted to date Tegan. Wasn’t he already making moves?

“Then you need to treat her like a queen! Did you even watch those videos I sent you?”

Finley nodded. “I watched them. None of them said I couldn’t ask her to bring me lunch.”

Skye looked like she was ready to explode.

She was absolutely certain she had been scammed by the universe to end up with a guy like this.

Skye took a deep breath, trying to reign in her temper. “I used to think Hull was the most clueless guy on the planet, destined to be single forever.”

“But you are so much worse! Hull is probably going to be a father soon, and you haven’t even gotten off the starting line.”

“Seriously, do you even like Tegan?”

“I…”

“Ugh, forget it. I don’t know what sins I committed to be stuck with you.”

Seeing Finley hesitate, Skye once again doubted Yvonne and Stella’s vivid descriptions of his supposed crush.

With the way Finley was acting, did it look like he was madly in love?

If he really was, would he behave like this?

It was infuriating.

Skye stormed out in a huff.

Left alone, Finley’s head spun.

“Psycho,” he muttered.

Seeing Finley’s disheveled state, Tegan couldn’t hold back a burst of laughter.

“What? What’s so funny?” Finley asked.

“You’re a grown man getting beat up by Skye. That’s hilarious,” Tegan teased.

Finley just stared at her.

Was it really that funny?

Watching Skye drag him away had been too much for Tegan.

Deep down, she was a straightforward girl with a very low threshold for amusement.

But being around Uriah had drained the laughter right out of her.

Now, standing here with Finley and Skye, she felt an unprecedented sense of ease.

Seeing Tegan cracking up, Finley sighed. “Alright, stop laughing.”

Skye was so embarrassing.

Just as he spoke, his phone rang. There was an issue with a patient.

After hanging up, he looked at Tegan. “Come with me.”

“Sure.”

Whenever it came to patients, Tegan was always eager to help.

They stepped into the elevator together.

Inside, Finley turned to her. “I’ve already approved your time off.”

“Huh?”

Approved her time off? What did that mean? She hadn’t even submitted a request.

“Aren’t you going to Star’s wedding?” Finley asked.

“I… I told her I couldn’t make it. I…”
