Chapter 1116

Did she hear that right? Finley said he approved her time off?

“Did you not know?” Finley asked.

“Know what?”

Tegan was utterly confused. She had no idea what he was talking about.

“I own this hospital,” he said.

Tegan was stunned.

*What?*

She genuinely had no clue. Back in Portis City, she had admired this hospital’s operational model and its cutting-edge practices.

That was why she had chosen it over countless other international medical centers when coming to Yoreland.

And now Finley was telling her the hospital was his?

“It’s normal you didn’t know,” Finley said. “But the fact that my hospital caught your eye is an honor.”

“I seriously had no idea.”

It was the truth.

She had only focused on the hospital’s resources and systems. As for the founder, she hadn’t looked into it.

No wonder he could just approve her leave.

She had been worried about asking for time off right after starting a new job, but now that wasn’t an issue since Finley owned the place.

She hadn’t even brought it up, and Finley had already handled it.

She had felt a pang of regret about missing Stella’s wedding, but now Finley had cleared all her hurdles.

“Well… thank you.”

Tegan expressed her genuine gratitude.

“I don’t accept verbal thank-yous. You’re buying me dinner.”

“But I’m staying at your house right now.”

Finley paused, then nodded. “True. Then we’ll just eat dinner together every day.” Tegan blinked.

Eat together every day?

The words sent a strange, warm flutter through her chest.

Every day? She had been with Uriah for years, yet they rarely shared a meal.

her to face the cold hostility of Mrs. Horner and Leslie alone.

Even after she moved out.

Uriah tried to spend more time with her, but every dinner seemed to end with a quick glance at her before hed rush off to take a call from his- mother or sister.

Needless to say, she usually ended up eating alone.

“What’s wrong?” Finley asked.

Seeing her stay quiet, he turned to look at her gently.

“That sounds great,” Tegan replied.

Having someone to eat with every day? It sounded wonderful.

For years, she had grown far too used to dining in solitude.

Being alone meant settling for whatever was quick and easy, because eating alone drained the joy from food.

*Ding.* The elevator arrived.

As the doors slid open, a chaotic commotion echoed from down the hall, pierced by Miriam’s hysterical screaming.

Looking down the corridor, the noise was coming directly from outside Uriah’s room.

A crowd had already gathered to watch the drama.

Tegan and Finley exchanged a look. “You head to bed 32,” Finley said.

“No, I need to see what’s going on.”

Tegan said firmly.

Finley raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”

“You go check on the patient first,” Tegan insisted.

The screaming from Uriah’s room was intense.

Tegan had to see what was happening.

Back when Miriam was Uriah’s assistant, she had always been incredibly obedient.

Despite her exceptional competence, she did exactly what Uriah ordered without complaint.

Whenever she had to handle Leslie’s messes, Miriam would get frustrated and just hang out with Tegan for hours to blow off steam.

seat.

Finley’s mouth twitched. “Do you want to check on Uriah, or do you just want to watch the drama?”

Tegan simply smirked.
