Chapter 354

 354:
So this charismatic, dashing figure was Linsey’s husband, Collin!
The crowd had been buzzing with whispers that Linsey’s husband was both old and a bit of an eyesore, not to mention his disabilities. The gossip around town was that no one wanted anything to do with marrying Collin.
Yet here he was, defying every whisper with his suave demeanor and striking good looks, perfectly complementing Linsey.
Were it not for his confinement to a wheelchair, he would undoubtedly be among Grester’s most illustrious personalities.
Now, as he drew a disarmingly handsome and tender smile, several spectators found themselves reevaluating their assumptions.
His allure was undeniable—there was a compelling charm about him, even seated as he was.
As the initial shock subsided, realization dawned.
This remarkable man not only had the means to afford the exquisitely designed dress that adorned Linsey, which was worth a fortune, but he had also chosen it with loving intent.
Such men were indeed a rarity in the world!
Beth’s jaw practically hit the floor—she was the most surprised of them all. She had never imagined that Linsey’s husband, Collin, would make an appearance, let alone turn out to be such a charismatic figure.
There he was, lavishing Linsey with affection in front of everyone, sparking a wave of envy among the crowd.
With a tight grip on her emotions, Beth’s fist clenched in a mix of frustration and awe. After a moment of internal debate, she gathered her courage, plastered on a congenial smile, and approached the couple. She said in a gentle voice, “Linsey, I see your husband has joined us. Why don’t you both come and sit with us for dinner? We have an empty seat right here.”

Linsey turned to face Beth, her expression momentarily marred by a flicker of impatience.
Seriously, how long was Beth planning to keep this nonsense going?
Linsey was on the verge of saying no before she even thought it through.
If not for Shari, she wouldn’t have even considered coming to this reunion. Now that she was back in touch with Shari, she had little interest in hanging around anyone else.
However, before the words could escape her lips, Collin chimed in, “Sure.”
Linsey’s eyes widened in surprise, and she shot Collin a puzzled look. This was unexpected. Collin typically shunned these loud, bustling gatherings.
Curious and slightly concerned, she silently questioned his sudden change of heart, her gaze probing as she tried to decipher his motives.
Collin caught the fleeting expression on Linsey’s face and, with a warm smile, gently took her hand. “As your husband, it’s only right that I meet your college friends,” he declared, his voice soft yet earnest. “After all, I owe them a thank you for looking after you during those university years.” As he spoke, he gave her hand a reassuring squeeze.
Linsey’s lips twitched into a bemused smile at his words.
Truth be told, as long as her old classmates hadn’t antagonized her during their college days, she considered them agreeable enough.
The idea of them “looking after her” was a stretch, but seeing Collin’s determined look, she decided to play along with his narrative.
