Chapter 430
430:
With that in mind, Collin quickly changed his decision. “I’ll go.” The Lawson family’s banquet would be the perfect opportunity to surprise Linsey. He wanted to reveal the truth about himself to her once and for all.
Just then, a harsh voice called out from outside the hospital room. “Hey, what are you doing lurking outside Mr. Riley’s room? Are you eavesdropping?”
Linsey was caught off guard. She hadn’t expected to be accused of eavesdropping the moment she arrived. The accusation felt completely unfair. She was simply entering her husband’s hospital room. How could anyone claim she was spying in a place where she had every right to be?
Turning her head, she recognized a familiar face. Wasn’t this the same nurse who had been forcibly removed from Gorman’s room just the day before? Linsey clearly remembered seeing her pushed to the floor after attempting to seduce Gorman.
Before she could say anything, the nurse scoffed and raised her voice. “What are you staring at?”
Linsey’s brow furrowed at the nurse’s hostility. Why was she so irritable this morning? She couldn’t think of anything she had done to provoke the nurse. At this moment, her gaze landed on the nurse’s name tag: Flavia Castillo.
“I wasn’t eavesdropping. I was just about to enter the room,” Linsey explained calmly.
Flavia narrowed her eyes, unwilling to let it go. It was impossible that this woman had access to Collin’s room. She had been in Gorman’s room yesterday, and Linsey’s presence there only stirred more suspicion.
It wasn’t surprising that Flavia remembered her so well—Linsey had the kind of beauty that was hard to forget. More than that, Flavia had noticed how Gorman’s demeanor changed when Linsey was around—completely unlike how he interacted with anyone else.

Flavia was convinced that her humiliation at Gorman’s hands yesterday had been Linsey’s fault. She believed that Linsey had somehow sabotaged her attempt to get closer to Gorman. The thought only fueled her anger.
“Still making excuses?” Flavia sneered, grabbing Linsey’s wrist with a harsh grip. “Come with me to the security office!”
Linsey’s frown deepened. She tried to pull free, but Flavia tightened her grasp.
“Let go of me! I already told you—I wasn’t eavesdropping,” Linsey explained, frustration creeping into her voice.
Why was it so impossible to reason with this woman?
Ignoring Linsey’s protests, Flavia yanked her forward. In the process, she carelessly bumped into Linsey’s hand, which was still tender and swollen from the burn. Linsey winced in pain.
“Let go!” Linsey snapped.
Flavia scoffed, her expression laced with contempt. “Drop the act. There’s no audience here.”
Just as she was about to drag Linsey away, the hospital room door swung open.
“Stop!” Collin’s assistant stepped out. His expression darkened when he saw Flavia gripping Linsey’s wrist. “What do you think you’re doing?”
Flavia’s grip loosened instinctively, and Linsey seized the opportunity to step back, gently touching the back of her burned hand.
She shot Flavia a brief glance before checking the thermos in her other hand. The chicken soup hadn’t spilled. Otherwise, Collin would have gone without his meal.
