Chapter 572

 572:
Millie raised an eyebrow. “There’s no need. I came with a driver.” After all, she had driven Linsey here herself.
Undeterred, Dustin leaned in confidently. “Millie, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you privately.” Without waiting for her response, he made his way toward her waiting vehicle.
Millie’s eyes widened in disbelief. “I didn’t realize you were this forward!”
With a faint smile, Collin turned away from Dustin and Millie and slipped into the car to join Linsey.
Linsey glanced at him curiously. “What could Dustin possibly want to discuss with Millie?”
Collin raised one eyebrow playfully. “Who knows? Dustin thrives on spontaneity—predicting his moves is almost impossible.”
Amused, Linsey chuckled softly. “You’re right about that.”
As the vehicle pulled away, the dimming streetlights created a calming atmosphere, and Linsey couldn’t help but yawn. Even in the low light, Collin noticed her fatigue. Without a word, he gently drew her closer, letting her rest comfortably against his shoulder.
“It’s been a long night,” he murmured. “Try to get some rest. I’ll wake you when we arrive home.”
Her eyes fluttering shut, Linsey whispered, “Alright. Just don’t forget to wake me later.” She was saving the news of her pregnancy for a private moment with Collin once they were alone.
Imagining his reaction filled her with quiet excitement, and soon she drifted to sleep.
When their car reached Vista Villa, Collin resisted waking her. Carefully lifting her from the vehicle, he carried her up to their bedroom. Linsey remained asleep even as he gently helped her into her nightgown. Watching her rest, Collin’s eyes softened with tenderness.

Collin observed Linsey, noting the subtle layer of makeup on her face. Silently, he rose and retrieved the makeup remover and cotton pads from the vanity. He dampened a pad, feeling the cool liquid seep into the fabric and reach his fingertips. The sensation was refreshingly cold.
A slight crease formed on Collin’s forehead as he waited for the remover to warm in his hand, then carefully dabbed at Linsey’s cheek, methodically removing every trace of makeup. His actions were gentle and meticulous, as though handling something exceedingly precious.
Time seemed to stretch as he worked, but once he was satisfied that Linsey’s face was clean, Collin allowed himself a moment of relief. “Sleep well, baby,” he murmured, his hand softly caressing her head. His voice was mellow and soothing in the faintly lit room, filled with warmth. A subtle smile crossed his lips, his eyes brimming with love.
