Chapter 1209
Joy didn’t dare to pry any further. After all, Eleanor’s work could involve highly
classified information. She couldn’t help but ask, “If you don’t hate him anymore, do you… still love him p>
Joy’s question, while startling Eleanor for a few seconds, was quickly met with a calm and clear-eyed response.
“You want the truth?” Eleanor asked with a laugh.
“Of course, I want to know what’s really in your heart. After all, all of lan’s past messes haven’t been erased from my book,” Joy huffed.
Eleanor hadn’t shared many of the things that had happened over the past year with her, so in Joy’s mind, lan was still the cheating scumbag, a stain that couldn’t be washed clean.
Eleanor’s voice was steady, without a hint of hesitation. “Right now, my mind is filled with my experiment schedules and data analysis. I have a very clear plan for my future p>
“So, you’re saying you only have eyes for work and not for men?” Joy’s laughter came through from the other end.
Eleanor truly had no time to think about such things. In her current situation, her personal feelings were compressed into a tiny, almost negligible corner. Before her stood a mountain, a field she needed to devote all her energy to climbing, leaving no room for other distractions.
“Who I love or don’t love isn’t important to me anymore,” Eleanor said honestly.
“Alright, alright! After all, you have a lineup of outstanding suitors. When you finally have time to think about it, I’m sure someone will be willing to wait for you,” Joy conceded, finding it hard to analyze her friend’s romantic life.
After a bit more chat about Joy’s children, they hung up.
Meanwhile, the media headlines that day screamed, [Rekindling an Old Flame? Billionaire lan Goodwin Discreetly Picks Up Ex-Wife Eleanor at Airport, Intimate Gestures Spark Reconciliation Rumors]
The article was accompanied by several high-definition candid shots: Ian naturally taking Eleanor’s laptop bag, the way he looked at her with a gaze full of tenderness and deep affection, and even a detail of lan opening the car door for her, his arm protectively held over her head.
In the comments section,
gossip-loving netizens were buzzing. “Damn is this a reconciliation in the works Mr. Goodwin’s gaze clearly shows he’s still in love! What about my piano goddess p>
“What can you do? This ex-wife is too exceptional. Even a billionaire has to go back for seconds p>
“They’re back together after only two years? Well, I don’t understand the world of the rich, but a woman with a career is just beautiful p>
“Am I the only one who noticed Mr Goodwin’s hair color is so stylish and high-end? Is this a script where, the cold 50 instantly becomes bag-carrying assistant p>
Gavin immediately walked into lan’s office with a tablet.
“Mr. Goodwin, should we do something about this news?” Gavin said, trying to suppress the urge to tease his boss.
lan took the iPad and leaned back in his chair, looking somewhat relaxed as he reviewed the article.
“The photos are well-taken,” lan commented in a low voice.
Gavin fought back a smile. He had come in to cheer his boss up, and it seemed this news was exactly to his liking.
lan then handed him a fountain pen from his side. “Change the ink cartridge for me p>
Gavin was taken aback. When did his boss get a pen like this? He had noticed lan carrying it around recently, using it for signing documents and in meetings.
“Mr. Goodwin, was this a gift from someone?” Gavin thought to himself that for Mr. Goodwin to cherish. something so much, it must have been a gift from Miss Sutton.
lan looked at the pen. “It wasn’t a gift. I picked it up p>
“Oh, I see!” Gavin thought again. Well, if he picked it up, he must have picked up something Miss Sutton had discarded.
