Alice rubbed her temples again. The headache was creeping back.
“Forget it. I need to go somewhere quiet.”
“Come on! At least tell me what you’re thinking? Give me something to laugh about,” Risa pleaded.
Alice shot her an annoyed glance.
“If he really didn’t care about the mission, then why does he know so much about the client?”
Risa shrugged. “Could be smoke and mirrors. You-”

The door slammed open with a loud crash.
Both Alice and Risa froze.
There were supposed to be bodyguards outside. And good ones at that.
For someone to bust through like that—it didn’t make sense.
So naturally, both women were curious about the intruder capable of getting past the bodyguards.
Then they saw him. Boston. His face was twisted with fury.
Alice sighed inwardly.
Of course. The Spencers. Like a bad penny, always turning up.
Risa blinked and sighed, clearly unimpressed. “Your brother again? Seriously? Should I kick him out of the club?”
Boston had stormed over, fully convinced that Linda was in trouble
But the moment he arrived at the suite, he noticed something odd–there were bodyguards stationed outside.
That only made him more suspicious. He’d been in this industry long enough to know how shady things could get behind closed doors.
In private clubs like this one, it wasn’t uncommon for powerful people to bring their own security, especially when things got unsavory.
Without hesitation, he gave the order. His men engaged the bodyguards while he charged the do kicking it open with all the righteous fury of a man ready to rescue his sister.
He’d already made up his mind. If someone dared lay a hand on Linda, he’d make sure they never touched anyone again.

And right beside her was Risa , staring at him like he was an idiot.
Boston was puzzled. What’s going on ?
“Can I help you?” Risa’s voice was ice.
The playful tone she’d had a moment ago vanished without a trace.
Her entire presence shifted, the air around her heavy with the kind of pressure that could make a grown man’s heart stutter.
Boston had spent months trying to prove himself to Risa, hoping she’d finally take him seriously.
It wasn’t even casting day yet. And Boston had already made a complete fool of himself–showing Risa, of all people, the worst, most reckless side of him.
Risa was the first to break the silence. “You came here to see me?”
Boston had been in this industry long enough to know when someone was handing him an out.
He’d have to be an idiot not to take it.
He forced an awkward smile.
“Someone told me you might be in trouble. I panicked. Turns out, I walked straight into a setup.”
As he spoke, he was already backing toward the door.
“I didn’t realize you were in the middle of a meeting. My bad. Sorry for the interruption.”
At that point, he didn’t even care why Alice was there.
His only prayer was that Risa wouldn’t walk away with a terrible impression of him. If he could get out of this with his dignity halfway intact, it’d be a miracle.
Risa waved a hand. “Alright, you can go. I’m fine.”
Just as he turned to leave, she called after him with a smile.
“Still, thanks for rushing over. That was sweet.”
She was smiling. But it made his blood run cold.
Boston could tell–she was angry.
He shut the door gently behind him, then leaned against the wall outside, wiping the sweat from his brow. His heart was still pounding.
His assistant and manager had just come back, and both froze when they saw how pale he looked.
“Is your sister okay? What happened?” the assistant asked, alarmed.

“She’s fine,” Boston muttered, waving them off.
He opened his mouth to say more, but his brain was foggy, his thoughts scattered.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose and let out a long breath.
A moment later, the security guards returned.

Whatever Risa had said to them, it clearly hadn’t been flattering. They shot Boston a look full of contempt. then resumed their post without a word.
Boston couldn’t blame them. “… Right.”
His assistant and manager exchanged a confused glance.
Without another word, Boston motioned them toward a quieter hallway. Only once they were out of earshot did he finally speak.
“Here’s the deal. Inside that room … it was Risa and Alice.”
The assistant’s jaw dropped.
“Wait–what?!”
The manager’s face went dark. Something was definitely wrong.
He immediately pulled out his phone, flipping through contacts, already dialing.
It took a long while before the three of them regrouped, each having made their own calls and checked their sources.
Boston squatted, dropped his head into his hands, messing up his hair.
Still, it didn’t help. He felt like his skull was about to split open.
The manager clenched his fists.
“Someone set you up, that’s for sure. But you’re always careful. What went wrong this time?”
Then a thought struck him.
“Wait a minute–you’ve been saying for a while that something’s been off with your sister. You think… she might’ve tricked you?”
Boston didn’t answer. Instead, he asked, “What’s Levi been up to lately?”
The manager was helpless.
“Please don’t tell me that you think he’s behind this. The guy’s vanished. No one can find hin.
“I’m worried he’s just laying low, using misdirection,” Boston said. “I’ve had people looking.” There’s been talk he’s quitting the industry. Dropped every endorsement and backed out of all his shows.”

“Yeah,” the manager replied, brows furrowed. “Even his manager, Kaleb, has ghosted ev both disappeared.”
Boston’s face darkened with frustration. “If it’s not him, then who else could it be?”
