Ever since Ruby had agreed to this, in her heart, she had already seen Clayton as her future husband
If they were truly destined to be husband and wife, then he shouldn’t be involved with other women .
Clayton and Emma slowly walked over.
The two of them acted as if they hadn’t seen her, chatting and laughing. They didn’t even planning to greet her before leaving.
Sandy couldn’t hold back anymore and stepped forward. She grabbed Clayton.
“What do you mean? I called you carlier!“.
Clayton’s face turned a bit cold.
“Just because you called me, I have to respond?”
“I’m swamped every day as it is.”
Sandy hadn’t expected him to be so harsh.
She was instantly so angry she almost cried.
“Do you know who I am?”
Clayton’s gaze grew even colder. “Who you are has nothing to do with me. Besides, as a stranger, grabbing me like this is very rude.”
With that, he directly shook off Sandy’s hand.
Sandy was stunned.
She hadn’t expected him to be so heartless.
For Clayton, she had even given up her own status to come here as a volunteer.
Her friends had laughed at her for it before.
She just wanted the Reeses‘ support–why was it so hard?
“Alright, Miss. If you have nothing else, can we go now?”

Alice walked out of the ward.
She had been inside for a full 30 minutes.
During that time, it was very quiet inside.
Occasionally, you could hear voices talking.

Toward the end, it became quite peaceful–even a bit gentle.
Now, the person was already asleep.

When Alice came out, Jack also peeked through the door crack and saw the situation inside.
Emily was still sleeping soundly.
Jack couldn’t help but sigh with relief. “Ms. Spencer, you’re amazing!”
Alice shook her head.
“It’s not about me–Emily’s the tough one.”
Jack said helplessly, “Oh, come on–stop being so modest.”
As he spoke, he called Andy.
“Dr. Brown, please come over. The patient is asleep now. Yes , sleeping well.
“Okay, hurry up. Don’t delay any further.”
After seeing Emily’s condition, Alice wasn’t as worried as before.
“Since there’s still time, I’ll go check the lab.”
“Good, I’ll go with you.”
Jack was also eager to use that advanced equipment and wanted to operate them himself.
“Okay.”
Alice looked at Eric standing by the window sill.
“What about you, Eric?”
Eric looked at her and said, “I’m following you.”

Alice nodded. “Wait, put on a lab coat. There’s radiation inside.”
Eric asked back, “What about you?”
Alice smiled faintly. “I don’t care about that.”
Eric and Jack were shocked by her response.
What ? What’s going on ?
She doesn’t care about radiation ?
Is there something wrong with her body ?
“Ms. Spencer, though this might not sound good, I have to say it.”
“Don’t give up any hope. If something’s wrong, get help right away.”
“I believe you can get the best treatment.”
In fact, Alice’s medical skills were superb. Getting treated by her in this world was a stroke of luck.
But if Alice herself had a problem ?
Then … it would be too hard .
Alice was confused.
She looked at Jack blankly. “Do you realize what you just said?”
Jack replied, “But you said you don’t fear radiation.”
Alice rubbed her forehead. “My watch has an anti–radiation chip–it’s more effective than any protective clothing.”
Jack immediately patted his chest.
“You nearly gave me a heart attack!”
Alice said, “Really, what you said startled me too.
You almost scared me to death for nothing !
Jack was extremely awkward. His laugh was completely forced.
Eric watched their interaction, the corner of his lips curved slightly.
In that instant earlier, countless bad thoughts had flashed through his mind.
It was a good thing Jack was a straightforward person and asked directly.
Otherwise, he would have dwelled on it.
