Shirley couldn’t hold back any longer and quickly brought up Alice’s request for the wedding gifts.
Sandy didn’t care at all.
“Grandma, you gave her so many wedding gifts. How could someone like her remember every single thing? Missing one heart pendant isn’t a big deal.”
Right after she spoke, Daniel knocked and walked in..
He was holding a gift receipt.
“Mrs, Irene, Mrs. Nolan sent me with this.””
He explained, “She’s not really asking for money or anything. She just really likes that heart pendant and wants to give it to Mr. Eric as a sign of her love. So she’s hoping you’ll let her have it early.
Daniel’s voice was soft, but his face looked serious.
It was clear that refusing wasn’t really an option.
Alice’s request made sense.
Plus, Daniel was really lowering himself by delivering this message.
“Mrs. Nolan also said that if you give her the heart pendant, you don’t have to send the rest of the wedding gifts if you don’t want to.”
Irene nearly passed out from anger.
At this point, even if she didn’t want to give it, she didn’t have a choice.
“Daniel, are you okay? Now you’re running errands for a country bumpkin?”
Sandy knew Daniel and Stanley were Eric’s most trusted helpers.
When Eric was unconscious, these two had protected him very well.
They were totally loyal.
So how could someone like that just abandon Eric to serve a country girl?
The two brothers would skip meals and rest just to keep one of them always by Eric’s side.

Daniel answered, calmly and matter–of–factly. “She is Mrs. Nolan, my employer
Running errands for my employer? Totally normal.
Sandy sneered, “You’ve really fallen. You have lost all principles.”
Daniel smiled coldly.
“Ms. Sandy, I’m just here to get the emerald heart pendant. No need to get worked up.”
Sandy was speechless.
Grinding her teeth, she snapped, “Get lost. You’re just a lowly bodyguard. What right do you have demanding things here?”
Irene’s heart skipped.
Knowing Sandy’s attitude, that meant the emerald heart pendant was probably gone for good.
Daniel didn’t get mad.
Seeing everyone’s frustration, he added, “Mrs. Nolan took photos of the heart pendant and posted them online. She wants Mr. Eric to wear it to work tomorrow onwards.”
He pulled out his phone.
Sure enough, Alice had uploaded a post using Eric’s phone.
It showed the emerald heart pendant.
Irene almost lost it and was ready to smash the phone.
Because the message read, “Thanks for the wedding gift. I received it tonight. I’ll wear it to work tomorrow.”
If Eric showed up to work without the pendant tomorrow, people would gossip about the Nolans for sure.
Even if the people at Nolan Group didn’t say anything, the social circles would ask questions.
Irene couldn’t afford to lose face.
“Daniel, you can leave for now. I’ll have someone deliver the heart pendant before work
tomorrow.”
She thought Daniel, such a loyal man, would insist on staying

But he surprisingly just nodded and started to leave.
By now, Irene completely understood that she was being played.
Watching Daniel go, she gritted her teeth and told Sandy, “I don’t care what you do, but get that heart pendant back. Otherwise, don’t call me Grandma anymore!”
Sandy was stunned.
“Grandma…”
Irene’s face turned cold.
“I’m sure you know what happened to Lucy.”
Lucy Field was Henry’s granddaughter whom Sandy had tricked into doing her funny
business .
Sandy went pale.
She hadn’t expected Lucy would be sent to Bracavia.
After all, Irene had always seemed kind and approachable to her.
Sandy even guessed if she didn’t get the heart pendant back, she’d be next.
That night, Alice had Eric soak in a bath.
The tub was filled with premium herbs, including the two herbs she bought at the auction.
At first, Eric didn’t feel much.
But after about 15 minutes, warmth spread through his whole body. Every pore seemed to
open.
Strength slowly came back to his limbs.
By the end, he could even feel the energy flowing through his body.
Alice checked the time and started the needle therapy.
Thanks to the bath, the room kept warming up.
A light sweat appeared on Alice’s face.
