Chapter 904

Cynthia had met Nicola a few times before Noah and Karina divorced. Back then, Nicola was a well-behaved and obedient child, and she got along well with Cynthia.

But this time, when Noah brought Nicola along, the girl was openly hostile towards Cynthia.

Though Nicola was too young to fully grasp the meaning of divorce, she knew her parents were separated. And Karina had surely filled her head with the idea that they divorced because Cynthia had seduced her father.

A young child, lacking their own judgment, is easily influenced by the thoughts of adults.

Cynthia’s attitude towards Nicola, however, remained unchanged. She was still gentle and smiling, and she even had the island staff prepare a cake that she knew Nicola loved.

But not only did Nicola reject the gesture, she threw the cake right at Cynthia.

“You’re a bad woman! You seduced my daddy and stole him from me! I’m not eating your cake.”

Cynthia was covered in frosting. She was first stunned, then mortified, but she didn’t get angry. She couldn’t very well argue with a child.

Seeing this, Noah’s face darkened. He grabbed Nicola’s arm and scolded her coldly, “Nicola, stop this nonsense. Apologize to Mrs. Jones.”

Nicola, who had been doted on by Noah her whole life, had never been spoken to so sternly by her father. The shock sent her bursting into tears.

“Daddy doesn’t want Nicola anymore now that he has a new baby! Waaah… I want Mommy, I want to go home…” Nicola cried as she ran off. In her haste, she didn’t see the steps and tumbled right down them.

“Ah!” Nicola let out a sharp cry, then sat on the ground and wailed even louder.

She was wearing a pretty little dress, and now her knees and palms were scraped, the blood staining the white fabric a shocking sight.

Yvonne instinctively stood up and immediately ordered a servant to fetch the first-aid kit.

Noah was terrified. He rushed over, scooped his daughter up from the ground, his gaze raw with an unbearable ache for his child.

Held in Noah’s arms, Nicola buried her small head in his shoulder, crying hysterically. “No new baby! No baby! Daddy is Nicola’s daddy…” she sobbed.

Nicola was crying so hard she could

barely breathe. Panicked and

helpless Noah could only try to Soothe her “No new baby just Nicola There there, Nicola, don’t cry”

He was just saying anything to calm the hysterical child.

But while the speaker was careless, the listeners were not. Everyone present subconsciously glanced at Cynthia.

Although Cynthia tried hard to remain composed, her expression had already soured.

“Cynthia, it’s getting a little chilly out here. Why don’t you come back to the room with me?” Yvonne suddenly said, offering Cynthia a way out.

Cynthia nodded, and the two of them walked towards the villa.

Bennett followed Yvonne closely, always. Before entering the villa, he glanced back at Noah, who happened to be looking their way, his eyes filled with a helpless panic.

Clearly, he realized his words had hurt Cynthia.

But Nicola was still in his arms. Though she had stopped crying, she was still sniffling, looking utterly wronged.

Yvonne and Bennett accompanied Cynthia back to the villa.

“Miss Cynthia, why are you back so soon? Oh, my, what happened to your clothes?” Cynthia’s room door was open, and Mrs. Gable, the housekeeper, came out her eyes wide with surprise.

Mrs. Gable was a long-time servant of the Scott family. Worried about Cynthia’s

pregnancy, she had followed her to the island to take care of her.
