He carried her back to the car and settled her in the seat, his touch gentle and full of heartache as he carefully caressed her slightly swollen cheek.
His already eyes deepened several shades, as if stained with ink, looking utterly terrifying.
“Can you drive yourself home?” Bennett asked, handing her the car keys.
“Yeah,” Yvonne nodded. It was just a slap; she wasn’t that fragile.
“Go back to Cherry Bay. I’ll come find you later,” Bennett added. “I’ll handle everything else, don’t worry.”
With so many people watching and filming outside the hospital, the scandal of popular young actress Yvonne being a homewrecker would probably be trending online before morning.
But with Bennett here, he would never let her be tarnished by such accusations. After his instructions, he reached over and fastened her seatbelt.
Yvonne looked up at him, hesitating for a moment before asking, “Will Yolanda… be okay?”
