Chapter 593
The moment Elder Malcolm raised his hand toward my pregnant Mate, the Dallas Marshall POV
agonizing burn of the silver in my veins vanished — swallowed entirely by Ragnar’s explosive, murderous roar.
I didn’t think. I didn’t care that my spine was held together by fragile stitches and sheer willpower. I lunged from the hydrotherapy pool, water cascading violently off my body, and threw my massive frame over Adella, caging her against the glass wall just as Malcolm’s heavy cane came crashing down.
The sickening crack echoed through the steam. It wasn’t Adella’s delicate bone — it was the impact of Malcolm’s strike landing dead center across my freshly healing silver wounds.
A blinding, white-hot agony pierced straight through my spinal cord. My knees buckled, but I locked my jaw and refused to fall in front of my Luna.
Malcolm stumbled backward, his face draining of color as he realized he had just struck his Alpha King. The arrogant fury in his eyes dissolved instantly into a fleeting, pathetic terror.
I turned slowly, my storm-gray eyes bleeding into the molten, predatory gold of my Lycan. “This is the last time,” I rasped, my voice a demonic, vibrating growl that shook the wet tiles beneath our feet. “The absolute last time you will ever raise a hand near my Luna.”
I shoved him backward with my good arm. Malcolm staggered, nearly tripping over Dosha, who was still sprawled on the floor, shrieking her venomous lies.
The sound of her voice — the monster who had crippled me and now threatened my family — snapped the last thread of my control. I grabbed the heavy alloy frame of Dosha’s discarded hover-chair. Vance stepped forward immediately, his hand closing around my arm.
“Alpha, don’t,” the Gamma warned. “Let me handle it.”
I shoved the chair toward Vance instead. “Get them out. Now.”
The violent twist was already too much. I felt the surgical sutures in my back snap one by one. Muscle and silver-poisoned tissue tore wide open. A rush of hot, dark blood soaked through my rehab shorts and pooled onto the wet tiles.
Adella let out a terrified sob, her hands flying to her mouth.
My vision blurred at the edges, but I forced myself to stand tall. I pointed a trembling, blood-stained finger at the door, locking eyes with my Gamma. “Get them out,” I roared, unleashing a suffocating Alpha’s Command that drove Malcolm to his knees. “Seal this floor. If I see their faces again before the trial, I will personally break your legs.”
Vance Decker didn’t hesitate. He and his Dire Guards roughly hauled the screaming Dosha and the pale, trembling Elder out of the wing.
The heavy doors slammed shut. The threat was gone.
And with it, the adrenaline keeping me upright evaporated completely.
The world tilted violently. Ragnar let out a whimpering howl as the silver poison flooded our system. My eyes rolled back, and my massive body plummeted toward the cold tiles.
“Dallas!” Adella screamed.
