Chapter 447
“That’s a lie!” Azalea suddenly cried out from behind the wheelchair, stepping forward. “She fought for —”
A low, terrifying rumble vibrated from Dallas’s chest, hitting the air with crushing force. It was an Alpha’s Command. Azalea gasped, her hands flying to her throat as her body was forced into agonizing, rigid submission. She couldn’t speak, her eyes wide with helpless tears.
Dallas didn’t even glance back at her. He shifted his cold gaze to Braydon, who stood a few feet away, watching the destruction of my soul with barely concealed triumph.
“She saved your life, Hyde,” Dallas said, his voice devoid of any emotion. “She is your blood-debt now. She is no longer my Mate.”
Before I could scream, before I could fall to my knees and beg for the man I loved to come back to me, Dallas signaled his Warriors. They loaded his wheelchair into the lead armored SUV. Yara climbed in right behind him. The doors slammed shut, sealing my heart inside with them.
Dallas POV
The heavy armored door of the SUV slammed shut. The moment the privacy partition hummed up, separating us from the driver, the ruthless Alpha King died — leaving only a broken, dying man.
I collapsed against the leather seat, my chest convulsing violently. I coughed — a wet, tearing sound — and spat a mouthful of black, poisoned blood into the biohazard bag Yara quickly held out.
Mate… Ragnar howled in pure, shredding agony, his claws tearing at the inside of my ribs. We had just slaughtered our own soul. The pain of forcing a wedge into our mate-bond was worse than the fire in Beirut.
Yara’s seductive smirk vanished instantly, replaced by the cold, sterile efficiency of a combat medic. She wiped the blood from my chin and checked my bandages.
“Did she believe it?” I rasped, my throat tasting of copper and ash.
“She looked like you ripped her soul out through her throat,” Yara said flatly, securing the bag.
I closed my eyes, a single tear mixing with the sweat on my pale face.
“You’re killing yourself, Dallas,” Yara warned.
“The Silver Claws are in the city,” I breathed, every word a battle. “They hunt Lunas. If they see her with me, she’s a target. That’s why she has to hate me. Hate keeps her away. Hate keeps her safe.”
I forced my eyes open and pulled out my encrypted tablet. “Tell the driver to head to The Four Seasons. And mind-link Duncan — tell him to make sure the RogueNet paparazzi are waiting in the lobby. We need to make this betrayal public.”
Adella POV
The taillights of the Ghost convoy faded into the violent storm, leaving me standing alone on the freezing tarmac. My mind was entirely blank, hollowed out by the sheer magnitude of his cruelty.
A heavy, warm cashmere coat was suddenly draped over my shivering shoulders. Braydon’s pine scent wrapped around me — suffocating, but undeniably grounding in the chaos.
