Chapter 280
Chapter 280:
Jarred Volkov, the filth who dared to touch what belongs to the King, writhed beneath me. He was fast for a Rogue — I’d give him that. His hand snaked down to his boot, and a second later, cold fire sliced through the bicep of my left arm.
Silver.
The smell of searing flesh filled the air, acrid and bitter, warring with the metallic tang of blood. My skin hissed as the poison tried to eat its way into my veins, fighting against my Lycan healing factor.
Ragnar didn’t flinch. He laughed.
Break him.
I didn’t bother to dodge his next strike. I caught his wrist mid-air. Jarred’s eyes bulged, realizing too late that a silver blade meant nothing against a monster who had already decided to kill him.

With a sickening crack, I twisted his wrist backward. The bone gave way like a dry twig.
Jarred screamed, the sound raw and guttural, but I cut it short with a fist to his jaw. His head snapped back, bouncing off the glass-strewn floor.
“You touched her,” I snarled, my voice a distorted growl that didn’t sound human. I hit him again. And again. “You made her bleed p>
His nose shattered under my knuckles. Blood sprayed across the white carpet, painting a gruesome tableau. The arrogance was gone from his face, replaced by a mask of ruin.
Kill him! Rip his head off! Ragnar demanded, clawing at my mind to finish the job.
“Dallas! Stop! You’re going to kill him p>
The voice pierced through the fog. It wasn’t concern for the Rogue — it was panic.
I froze, my fist hovering inches from Jarred’s pulped face. My chest heaved, every breath burning my lungs. Slowly, painfully, I forced Ragnar back, locking the beast behind the bars of my control.
I stood, shaking the glass from my hair. Blood — mine and Volkov’s — dripped from my knuckles. I turned to find Braydon Hyde kneeling beside the sofa.
He had Adella in his arms.
A low, dangerous rumble started deep in my chest. Seeing his hands on her, even in an attempt to help, felt like a violation.
“She needs a hospital, Dallas,” Braydon said, his voice trembling but defiant. He pulled her closer to his chest, shielding her from me. “Look at her. She’s drugged. She’s bleeding. I’m taking her to the ER p>
“You will do no such thing,” I said. My voice was quiet. Deadly calm.
“I’m not letting you take her while you’re in this state!” Braydon shouted, his Alpha aura flaring in a pathetic challenge. “You’re a monster right now. You’re not safe for her p>
I took a step forward. Glass crunched under my boots. The air in the room grew heavy, the pressure dropping as I unleashed the full weight of my Lycan dominance.
“Give me my wife p>
The command slammed into him. Braydon flinched as if physically struck, his wolf whining in submission. He gritted his teeth, fighting the order with every ounce of his will, sweat beading on his forehead.
“Adella…” Braydon whispered, looking down at her.
Adella stirred. Her eyelids fluttered open, hazy and unfocused. She looked at Braydon, confusion clouding her features. Then her gaze shifted to me.
