Chapter 1522
[ 604 words ]
Shanley raised a dark eyebrow, picked up his phone, and turned off speaker mode. With a half-smile, he asked, “And who exactly is Coach Melvin trying to chase?”
Melvin was now not only the Vice President of the Racing Association, but he had also opened his own elite racing club where he served as the head coach.
“You sly fox, don’t play dumb with me!”
Melvin sounded uncharacteristically sheepish, but his tone quickly smoothed out. “You’ve been through this, haven’t you? If you could manage to lock down my impossibly difficult sister, you clearly know what you’re doing.”
“Janet Wilcox?”
Shanley’s lips curled in amusement. He leaned back in his chair, his gaze drifting toward the framed photo on his desk as his expression naturally softened.
“Mhm.”
“You like her, but does she like you?” Shanley asked bluntly.
“Why are you starting with a personal attack?” Melvin grumbled, sounding deflated. “Don’t forget, when it’s time for your wedding, you’re going to need me as your inside man.”
Shanley massaged his temples. He had entirely forgotten about that little detail.
“Your absolute first priority is figuring out if she already has feelings for someone else.”
Shanley shifted into a strictly analytical tone. “If she’s already into another guy and you force your way in, you’re just going to be the homewrecker.”
That single sentence effectively crashed Melvin’s brain.
A long silence stretched over the line.
Finally, Melvin’s voice returned. “Homewrecker or not, as long as she likes me back, I don’t care what my title is.”
Shanley stiffened, the corner of his mouth twitching violently.
“Janet isn’t like Juniper, and she’s certainly not like Lorelei,” Shanley analyzed calmly. “When Juniper first accepted me, she was looking at my money and my face. Lorelei and Harold got back together so fast because they’ve been profoundly in love with each other for years. But you and Janet…”
He paused for a second before lowering his voice. “She doesn’t care about money, and she doesn’t care about power. As for whether she cares about looks…”
To be completely fair, considering how gorgeous Juniper was, none of her siblings were lacking in the genetics department.
Melvin was exceptionally handsome.
“My advice is to just be around her as much as possible,” Shanley offered from experience. “Money, a good physique, a handsome face-one of those is bound to break through eventually.”
Melvin pondered this. “Makes sense.”
He had money, he had the body, and as for his face…

“Alright,” Melvin muttered, scratching his head. “I’ll start with your advice.”
Figure out if she liked someone else, then learn all her preferences.
First, make sure she noticed him. Then, win her heart. Step by step, until she was his.
“Yeah.”
Shanley nodded, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “I still have no idea how Juniper is going to react to this You’d better find a way to test the waters with her first.”
A ‘brother’ turning into a brother-in-law.
A cousin turning into a sister-in-law.
His poor Juniper was probably going to lose her mind.
“Got it,” Melvin replied, feeling a sudden wave of guilt.
He used to endlessly mock Shanley for ‘robbing the cradle’.
Look at him now.
The boomerang had swung right back and hit him squarely in the face.
The next morning.
Juniper overslept and had to rush through her morning routine, completely skipping breakfast.
The moment she stepped out the door, she bumped right into Melvin.
“Morning!”

Standing perfectly in the morning light, he looked like he had just stepped off a runway.
Well, well.
Juniper raised an eyebrow. Her third brother actually looked somewhat respectable today.
