On the other hand, Isla shifted her gaze away from her husband. She felt relieved to see him surrounded by business men instead of Delphine. But she had come here to enjoy a night out with Betsy, and that was what she intended to do.
The host guided them to their seats, around the corner. They settled in soft velvet couches. Betsy wanted to speak, but she stayed quiet until the host finished setting them down.
“Just get us something light,” Betsy finally said, lifting her chin with casual charm.
“I don’t want alcohol, please,” Isla added softly. Her voice was steady, but her hands were clasped tightly in her lap.
The host gave them a polite nod and left.
“Wow,” Betsy whispered as soon as he was gone. “I wasn’t expecting your husband to be here. And it looks like he’s having a meeting or something. ”
Isla acted unconcerned, though her chest was pounding. She pulled her phone out from her clutch and started tapping on it. Let’s just focus on us tonight. I actually have an offer for you, Betsy. ”
Betsy blinked, surprised. Her honey eyes sparkled with curiosity. “An offer? ” Chapters first released on.net

“ You want me to leave my job?” Betsy tilted her head, her well manicured fingers brushed her black curls to the side, and she
still looked confused.
“Yes. Leave it and come work with me.” Isla placed her phone down, her voice more certain now. “I was appointed as the new
General Manager of The Wyndham Wardrobe. I will resume work on Monday. And I need someone I can trust to handle I & A
Atelier. That someone is you p>
Betsy was overwhelmed with joy. Her face lit up with genuine happiness. “What? You? At Wyndham Wardrobe? Girlfriend, that’s massive! Congratulations!” She leaned over and pulled Isla into a side hug, squeezing her.
Just then, the host returned with their drinks. He placed them carefully on the glass table, the crystal cups gleaming under
the golden lights.
“Is there anything else you’d like?” he asked smoothly.
Isla’s eyes roamed across the room with curiosity as they found Gabriel. He was still looking at her. Their eyes locked for a fleeting moment, and a question burned in her chest–Why is he watching me like that?
She quickly looked back at the host. “No, thank you. We’re fine p>
“Very well, ladies. I’ll be close if you need anything.” He bowed slightly and stepped away.
Isla leaned in with a grin. “So, what do you say? ”
“If my salary is fat, who am I to say no to Mrs. Billionaire? ” Betsy teased, raising her glass with a laugh.
Isla smiled softly. Her attention has been divided into two. A part of her was still trembling. She had only agreed to come out tonight because she thought Gabriel was away with Delphine. Seeing him here with businessmen made her feel strangely quilty, though she forced herself to hide it.
Betsy noticed Gabriel’s gaze again. “Your husband is still staring at you. Do you think he’s angry? ”
Isla scoffed, sipping her drink slowly. “Let him be. I have no reason to be scared.” Her tone was light, but her heart beat faster with every sip of her drink.
Suddenly, Isla frowned, tilting her head. “Wait. Could this place belong to Landon? I just remembered I heard that he was opening a new club”

“Really? But if that be the case, why are the other family members not here? I don’t think so.” Betsy shook her head in
disagreement.
While Isla was still fighting her conflicted mind. A deep voice interrupted.
“Hello, beautiful ladies. Mind if I join you? ”
A tall, handsome man stood in front of them. His smile was charming, and his confidence impressive.
“Of course, you can,” Betsy replied instantly, always quick and playful. Isla shot her a warning glare, but it was too late.
The man slid onto the couch right beside Isla. His cologne lingered, strong, almost suffocating. Isla immediately felt uncomfortable. She stiffened, shifting slightly to the other side.
Across the room, Gabriel noticed. Because his eyes were always watching his wife from afar.
His hand tightened around the glass he had been holding, then he set it down hard. His jaw twitching, and in a flashing moment, he stood. His business associates turned, looking in surprise as he abandoned them mid–discussion.
With long, purposeful strides, Gabriel crossed from his private space to Isla’s. His eyes were blazing, dark with anger and possession.

He reached Isla’s table. And without a word, he grabbed her hand. His grip was firm, leaving no space for argument, and in one motion he pulled her up from her seat.
Betsy gasped, clearly shocked. So was Isla.
The stranger stood too, frowning. “Excuse me, Mr. Wyndham. I was here before you p>
Gabriel turned slowly, his glare like steel. The kind of glare that could silence anyone. His voice was cold too. Each word was heavy. “This is my wife. And we are leaving. Now p>
