Neither of them spoke. The silence was loud, filled only with the sound of their heavy breathing.
For the first time in a long time, Isla felt Gabriel’s eyes burning into her–not with coldness, not with hatred, but with hunger. The kind of hunger a man feels for his loving wife.
And she wanted more of it. She wanted all of him, and he wanted him to see that her love was still alive. She wanted him to fight alongside her, not against her, to fight for their marriage instead of killing it.
