THE EXTRAORDINARY BRIDE OF THE WYNDHAM FAMILY Chapter 59

Chapter 59

Gabriel stood quietly in front of the floor–to–ceiling glass window that overlooked the city skyline. His hands were tucked deep into the pockets of his tailored suit pants. The afternoon sunlight spilled across his office, glinting off the polished glass table and the silver frame on his desk.

This afternoon, he looked calmer–more like himself again. After the tension and sleepless night, he had decided to focus on work and push through the noise. There was still so much waiting for him on his desk.

He had told his secretary, Mrs. Suzanne, to reschedule all his meetings for the day. This one event mattered more than any meeting or business deal.

The quiet click of the door drew his attention. A tall, broad–shouldered man in a black suit, brown hair and blue eyes, walked in, holding an iPad.

“Sir,” the man greeted respectfully.

Gabriel turned from the window. “Is everything ready p>

“Yes, sir. Everyone is here. They’re waiting for you.

Gabriel nodded slightly, his jaw tight. Then he looked at the man again. “Jude, tell me honestly… Am I being too soft? Do you really think calling this press conference is the right thing to do p>

Jude’s face was serious. “Sir, this is the best move you could make. People need to hear from you directly. As your assistant, I believe you’re doing the right thing”

Gabriel gave a faint nod. “Then let’s go p>

W

“Yes, sir.” Jude stepped aside and led the way.

They entered the elevator, and as the doors closed, Jude said, “The company lawyer and PR director are already there, waiting for you p>

Gabriel

I gave another small nod. He didn’t speak again. His thoughts were loud enough inside his head.

When the elevator chimed open, they stepped out onto the conference floor. The atmosphere felt different, it was filled with the quiet hum of reporters setting up their cameras.

Before entering the room, Gabriel paused for a second in the hallway. He drew in a long breath and released it slowly.

“Let’s get this done,” he said quietly.

Jude opened the double glass doors.

The moment Gabriel stepped in, the soft buzz of voices turned into a flurry of flashing lights. Photographers. stood in front, their cameras clicking non–stop. The conference room was filled with reporters, journalists, and media crews from major television stations, newspapers, and online platforms. They were all waiting for him.

The company’s PR director and the legal advisor immediately stood up as he entered, walking toward him. Together, they led him to the small stage platform at the front of the room, where a polished wooden lectern

stood, its top fitted with microphones labeled from different media houses.

Gabriel straightened his jacket before stepping behind the lectern. The flashes slowed. The room fell silent.

He looked at the crowd, his calm presence filling the space.

“Good day, ladies and gentlemen,” he began, his voice steady. “I’m happy to see all your faces here today p>

A few light chuckles rippled across the room. It was unusual to hear humor from Gabriel Wyndham, but the small moment of warmth softened the tension.

On his left stood his personal assistant, Jude, and on his right was the company’s legal advisor. Down by the front row, the PR director stood near the journalists, ready to guide the question session once Gabriel was done speaking.

Gabriel continued, his tone calm and firm.

“I’ll go straight to the point. There have been rumours circulating about my company and about my marriage. I called this press conference to clear the air p>

He paused briefly, glancing at the sea of cameras in front of him.

“My wife and I are not having problems in our marriage. Whatever rumours you’ve heard are false. We are fine, and we are still together p>

He leaned slightly closer to the microphone.

“I love my wife dearly,” he said clearly, “and I will never divorce her.” Latest content published on (.)net

The words hit deeply. Cameras clicked rapidly, capturing the expression on his face. The audio was already uploaded without him knowing. He made sure to look straight into one of the cameras–so that his message would reach exactly where it needed to.

“Thank you,” he said simply, and stepped aside to take his seat. He crossed one leg over the other, looking calm and controlled.

The PR director walked forward and faced the media. “Now, the CEO will take your questions one at a time. Please note he will only answer questions related to the rumours that brought us here today. Thank you p>

A male reporter raised his hand. “Mr. Wyndham, thank you for clarifying things about your marriage. But according to our source, it was your mother who first announced the news of your divorce. Can you comment on that p>

Gabriel didn’t move much in his seat. His tone was collected.

“I don’t know about your source,” he said. “But this is me speaking, and I’m telling you–I’m not divorcing my wife p>

His reply was brief, but it carried weight.

Another female reporter quickly followed, “If that’s true, then why did your mother make such an

announcement p>

Gabriel looked at her calmly. “I never said she did, did 1?” he asked. “Let’s move on, please p>

A third reporter spoke up, more carefully this time.

“Mr. Wyndham, with due respect, your mother also mentioned that Mrs. Isla Wyndham’s post as General Manager was only temporary. She reportedly said, and I quote, ‘Let’s just say she finally got what she deserves. ” She also announced that Miss Winthrope’s appointment was the official one. What can you say to that p>

Gabriel’s jaw tightened slightly, but his voice stayed calm as he spoke.

“First of all, let me make this clear,” he said, looking straight at the reporter. “My wife was not holding a temporary position. She was appointed as General Manager because she was qualified. She resigned for personal reasons, and Miss Winthrope is only temporarily filling that role until further notice p>

He paused, his gaze firm.

“Whatever my mother said is her opinion–not the company’s. Please don’t take her words as official. Thank you p>

After a few more questions and answers. He leaned back, signaling that he

e was done.

The room stayed quiet for a moment. Cameras flashed again, but there was a new kind of silence now–one that carried respect. Gabriel Wyndham had said what needed to be said.
