Chapter 114
Gabriel helped her to her feet, his movements gentle but full of quiet words. He tucked the loose strands of hair behind her ears, letting his fingers linger briefly against her skin before framing her face in his hands.
“I’ll do everything in my power to keep you safe,” he said softly, his gaze steady on hers. “Away from harm, away from pain. And I’ll make sure you get the respect you deserve.”
His thumb brushed across her cheek. “You’re mine, Isla. And I don’t joke with anything that belongs to me.”
He leaned in, pressing his lips to hers. The kiss was tender–more of a vow than a touch. When he pulled away, his hand slipped into hers.
“Come,” he said quietly, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “There’s something I want to show you. You’re yet to see our bedroom. There’s still so much for you to see around here.”
He didn’t wait for her to answer. His hand held hers as they left the dining room, walking side by side through the wide marble hallway. Isla followed without question, her heart full with joy. 1
Every maid they passed bowed respectfully, their heads lowered in quiet acknowledgment. Isla offered faint smiles in return. She wasn’t used to such formality. It felt strange, almost too grand. But she promised herself that once she settled in, she would change that.
This was her home now–her first day here, and she already felt both overwhelmed and grateful. Just a few days ago, everything had felt uncertain, and chaotic. But now… it was like she could finally breathe.
She decided she would let herself be happy. For once, she would stop resisting. She would tell Gabriel about her company. He deserved that honesty.
When they stepped into the private elevator, Gabriel pressed the top button and turned toward her as the doors slid shut. A smile curved his lips before she even realized what he was about to do.
He kissed her again. This time, it was slow, deep, and unhurried.
It felt like the beginning of something new, like they were both learning to know each other all over again.
Isla smiled into the kiss. She loved this version of her husband. He looked warmer, softer and easy to be with. He wasn’t just the sharp, serious CEO anymore. He was hers–he looked proudly in love, and unafraid to show it.
The elevator chimed, interrupting them, and the doors slid open. They both laughed quietly, like two teenagers caught in a sweet secret.
Gabriel led her out, still holding her hand. “This floor is entirely for us,” he said with a hint of pride. “You, me, and our future children.”
He stopped suddenly and turned to face her, his expression softening. “I want us to have children, Isla. A real family. Four of them, maybe,” he said, his lips curving into a teasing smile. “What do you say?”
Isla’s laughter filled the hallway, light and genuine. “Four? That’s a big number, but… yes. Let’s do that,” she said, still smiling.
Without warning, he pulled her close and pinned her gently against the wall, kissing her again. This one time,
the kiss is full of joy and promise. She responded with the same passion, her fingers tangled in his shirt as his hand cradled the back of her neck.
She silently prayed that this moment would never end. Because she knew that one more heartbreak, one more storm between them–and she might never recover from it.
Gabriel pulled back slightly, his thumb brushing her bottom lip. “What are you thinking about?” he asked quietly.
She blinked, snapping out of her thoughts. “Nothing,” she said softly. “Just… loving everything about this new beginning.”
He smiled. “Then get ready to enjoy it,” he said. “Because it’s going to stay this way from now until death do us part.”
“Shhh.” Isla pressed her finger gently against his lips. “Let’s not say that part yet,” she whispered playfully. ” Not until we’ve both lived longer than Grandfather.
They both laughed. The sound was soft, pure, echoing through the hall like music.
For the first time in Gabriel’s life. He felt peace.
How wonderful it felt to love. To have something that was truly his.
He looked at her. He really looked at her, and his heart ached with emotion.
And without thinking, his next words slipped out quietly, and unexpectedly.
