Trash Husband I’m the Top Chapter 103

Chapter 103

Mr. Hogan Chambers looked satisfied. “You know her-Hans’s sister, Monica Cooper.”
Hans. He was the man Eleanor once loved, and in the past, Daniel’s close friend as well.
Back then, Eleanor had run away from her engagement for Hans, and the two of them had left the country together.
After that, Daniel’s friendship with Hans soured to the point of barely speaking. Now, Hans was coming back to Fairvale.
“You grew up with Hans. You’ve met his sister before-she’s beautiful, capable, and most importantly, she’s always liked you.”
Mr. Hogan Chambers was clearly pleased with Monica.
She had the right family background, the right skills-by all accounts, the perfect candidate for Daniel.
Eleanor and Hans had a relationship once. It ended in a breakup, but she and Monica had always gotten along.
Even after Eleanor returned home, they kept in touch from time to time.
After leaving the hospital, Eleanor got a call from Monica, who told her she was back in Fairvale.
They met up.
“You’re going on a date with Dan?” Eleanor asked, swirling her wine glass, surprised by the news.
Monica was strikingly beautiful, her eyes full of charm and warmth. She had liked Daniel for years, but after being abroad for so long, she felt a little nervous about meeting him tomorrow.
And she knew, deep down, that Daniel’s heart belonged to Eleanor.
“Eleanor, are you upset about this?” Monica asked softly.
So this was why Monica had come back-to see Daniel.
A delighted smile flickered across Eleanor’s face. “Of course not. I’ve always wanted Dan to find someone good for him. You two would make a great match, except
She trailed off.
Monica leaned in, concerned. “Except what?”
Eleanor sighed, her voice tinged with regret. “It’s something I did years ago.” She told Monica about the engagement between Daniel and Aurora.
“My Aurora grew up in the countryside-she’s inexperienced, insecure, and has always been jealous about my history with Dan. She’s never really liked me, and to be honest, she doesn’t respect Dan either.”
“They’re in the middle of a divorce’s waiting period now, and I’m worried she won’t agree to sign the papers when the time comes.”
“I can’t help but think it’s all my fault.”
Monica had heard a bit about Aurora-rumor was, she was a talented perfumer. Fresh chapters posted on.net
She knew about the pending divorce, but hadn’t paid it much mind.
Now, though, Eleanor’s words planted a seed of concern over Aurora in Monica’s mind.
Aurora woke up early and went home to make breakfast for Grandma Grace, then brought it to the hospital.
Across the hallway, she noticed a new patient in the opposite room-Mr. Hogan Chambers, she guessed.
But she didn’t bother to say hello.
She and the Chambers family were finished. From now on, they were strangers.
Grandma Grace was in much better spirits than yesterday.
Widowed for twenty years, she’d long since come to terms with life’s ups and downs.
After breakfast, Aurora helped her walk a few laps around the room. Then Grandma Grace’s phone rang.
She answered, then handed the phone to Aurora. “It’s Eleanor for you.”
Aurora took the call, her tone cool. “What do you want?”
Eleanor wanted to meet and talk about Samuel.
Aurora didn’t want to agree, but knowing Eleanor’s persistence, if she refused, Eleanor would just keep calling Grandma every day.
So, she relented.
When she arrived at the restaurant Eleanor had chosen, Eleanor was already waiting.
Eleanor apologized carefully, hoping Aurora could forgive Samuel.
Aurora hadn’t even responded when her gaze was drawn to a man and a woman who had just entered.
The man was Daniel.
The woman, whom Aurora didn’t recognize, was stunning-elegant and confident.
They were talking and seemed to be getting along well.
Eleanor had noticed too, masking whatever flicker of emotion crossed her face. She said, as if offhand, “That’s Monica-Hans’s sister. The Cooper family’s golden girl.”
