Trash Husband I’m the Top Chapter 80

Chapter 80

Aurora stared at her, her face unreadable.
Eleanor sobbed quietly. “You’re always accusing me of having something going on with Dan. That’s why I want to hurry up and get married to someone else-so you can relax and grow old with Dan in peace.” This update ıs available on.net
Aurora was stunned. She honestly couldn’t make sense of it.
The problems between her and Daniel had always come from his inability to set boundaries with Eleanor. Whether Eleanor got married or not had nothing to do with it.
And yet, Eleanor acted like some kind of self-sacrificing saint.
How utterly unnecessary…
Daniel’s expression had darkened, anger flaring in his voice. “Eleanor, who told you to rush into blind dates like this?”
Eleanor bit her lip, tears streaming down her cheeks, looking utterly wronged. “I just want you and Aurora to be happy.”
“My life doesn’t need your interference.”
One looked fragile, the other furious.
Their back-and-forth could almost be mistaken for some bizarre lovers’ quarrel.
Aurora folded her arms, still expressionless as she watched them. “Need me to give you two some privacy?”
Eleanor fell silent, her tear-filled eyes fixed longingly on Daniel.
Daniel rubbed his temples. “Aurora, we need to delete the security footage.”
“Just today’s footage, right? Why do you need to wipe an entire week?” Aurora asked, genuinely baffled.
Just how badly did Eleanor think she’d been wronged, to insist on deleting seven days’ worth of video?
“They’ve been meeting for over two weeks,” Daniel explained. “That guy’s pushed Eleanor around more than once.”
He wanted Aurora to understand how helpless his little sister felt.
But Aurora couldn’t.
She gave Eleanor a cold, mocking smile. “He’s mistreated you so many times, and you neither called the police nor told him to back off. I guess your feelings for Daniel must be the real thing.”
“If you love him so much, why did you run out on your wedding in the first place?”
Playing both victim and martyr-how revolting.
“Aurora, that’s enough.” Daniel’s voice turned sharp.
Three years had passed.
Why did she always have to bring it up?
Aurora’s lips curled into a half-smile. “Got it. Wouldn’t want to bully your childhood sweetheart.”
Her words dripped with sarcasm.
But she had no intention of staying any longer.
She turned to leave, but Daniel grabbed her wrist, holding her firmly in place.
“You’re coming home with me.”
Aurora had come here for the security footage. She hadn’t seen it yet-she wasn’t leaving.
“I want to see the video.” Her face was ice.
“No.” Eleanor looked as if the world had collapsed around her, her crying growing louder. “Aurora, I know what happened upset you, but it has nothing to do with me. Can’t you just let me go this time?”
With a few words, she’d twisted Aurora’s request into an act of petty revenge.
Aurora let out a sharp, incredulous laugh. “Eleanor, I just want to look. What are you so afraid of?”
“I’m not!”
Daniel cut in. “Enough. We’re going home.”
He’d made up his mind he would not let Aurora see the footage.
Disappointment welled up in Aurora, burning hot and raw. She couldn’t stop herself from raising her voice. “Daniel, do you even realize she met with a senior executive from our rival firm right here?”
“Aurora, why are you lying about me?” Eleanor sobbed, tears streaming down her face as she glared at Aurora in outrage.
“It’s all right there on the video.” Aurora’s hand tightened on the doorknob. She looked Daniel straight in the eye, her voice cold and clear. “Daniel, do you have the guts to watch it?”
Daniel’s jaw clenched. “The footage is already gone.”
Aurora stared at him in disbelief. “What did you say?”
The video had been deleted—just moments ago, while they’d been in this very
room.
“Daniel.” Aurora’s fury was incandescent.
She’d come here clinging to the hope that she could finally prove her innocence.
And Daniel, for Eleanor’s sake, had erased that last chance.
