The Extraordinary Bride Of The Wyndham Family Chapter 200

Chapter 200

“Are you sure you have him with you?” Stone’s voice broke out through the phone speaker. It was louder than usual, it sounded sharp and more demanding, and filled with tension.

“Yes, boss. He is here with us as we speak,” the man replied from the other end of the line.

Stone frowned deeply. His brows pulled together as confusion clouded his face. He still could not understand what was happening. His eyes stayed fixed on the road ahead as he drove, his grip on the steering wheel so tight that his knuckles were turning white.

And his heart was racing.

He cursed under his breath as he drove, then spoke again through the Bluetooth in his ear. “Keep a close eye on him.

Make sure you take his phone away immediately. I don’t want him contacting anyone. I will join you very soon.”

“Yes, boss,” the voice answered.

Stone disconnected the call and released a sharp breath.

“What is going on?” he muttered to himself, his voice low and strained.

Less than five minutes ago, he had barely escaped an assassination attempt. He knew without any doubt that someone had been following him, giving out hismovements to the enemy. That was the only reason those men knew exactly where to find him.

And that fact alone chilled him.

Being targeted meant one thing. Someone who knew him personally-someone who understood his importance to the Wyndham family-had sold him out.

But who?

If Landon was already in custody, then who else could it be?

Stone cursed again and slammed his palm hard against the steering wheel. “Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck.”

His chest rose and fell heavily. He could feel anger building inside him, hot and dangerous. Someone was playing games with his head, and Stone hated nothing more than being toyed with.

Right now, he was determined to find that person.

Adrian had never said exactly who was giving out Isla’s Location. He only said there was someone else close to her, someone trusted, feeding information to the enemy.

That meant Landon might not be the only one.

The thought made Stone’s stomach twist.

What if the real traitor was still watching them? What if they were looking in the wrong direction while the enemy laughed at them from within?Without hesitation, Stone dialed another number.

“I want everyone in Gabriel and Isla’s residence arrested right now,” he ordered firmly. “Every single person. Make sure you seize their phones and any communication devices.”

There was a brief pause on the other end.

“Sir… what about the housekeeper?” the man asked carefully.

Stone’s jaw tightened.

Magdalene had worked for the Wyndham family for many years. She was more than a servant. She was like a mother to Gabriel. Even Alfred Wyndham himself trusted her deeply.

But trust was a luxury Stone could not afford right now.

“Including her,” Stone replied coldly. “No exceptions. I will be there soon.”

He ended the call without waiting for a reply.

Immediately, he dialed another number. This time, he slowed down and pulled off the highway, parking by the side of the road. The moment the call connected, a voice spoke.

“Yes, sir.”

“Tell me,” Stone said sharply, “what is happening overthere right now?”

“Nothing unusual, sir. Everything is calm. Everyone is going about their duties as normal.”

Stone closed his eyes briefly, then opened them again.

“Keep your eyes on everyone,” he said slowly and clearly.”

I mean everyone. Especially the workers. Do not let anyone out of your sight.”

“Yes, sir.”

Stone ended the call.

In his line of work, the number one rule was simple-everyone is a suspect until the criminal is found. No matter how loyal, how kind, or how innocent they seemed, no one was above suspicion.

He would handle this case with extreme care. One wrong move could cost Isla her life. It could cost the baby. It could destroy the entire family.

Stone started the car again and sped back onto the road.At Gabriel and Isla’s residence, Stone arrived shortly after.

One of his men met him halfway to the mansion, close to the artificial waterfall near the entrance.

“Everything has been done, sir,” the tall man in a black suit reported.Stone nodded once. “Good. Let’s get this done.”

He walked past the man without another word, his long strides fitled with purpose. The man followed closely behind as they headed straight into the mansion.

Inside the sitting room, all the workers had already been gathered.

Magdalene saw Stone walk in, and for a brief moment, relief flashed across her face. Seeing him usually meant things would be handled properly.

“Stone,” she said, standing up slightly. “What is going on?”

Stone did not look at her.

Instead, he walked to the front of the room and turned to face everyone. His presence alone was enough to make the air heavy.

“Listen carefully,” he said firmly. “I need your full cooperation. We have received information that someone among you is feeding sensitive information to the family’s enemy.”

Gasps filled the room. Eyes widened. Fear spread quickly.

Ten workers sat before him-the housekeeper, four maids, and other staff members. They exchanged nervous looks, confusion written all over their faces.

“My men will conduct a thorough search on each of you and your belongings,” Stone continued. “This includesyour rooms. All I need from you is cooperation.” He paused and looked around. “Are we clear?”

“Yes, sir,” they all replied together.

But Magdalene’s face turned red with shock and humiliation. Her chest tightened as anger and hurt filled her heart.

How could this be happening?

She had given her entire life to the Wyndham family. She had served Alfred, watched Gabriel grow, and cared for Isla like her own daughter since the day she married into the family. Alfred himself had assigned her to watch over them and report only to him.

And now she was being treated like a suspect?

“Christy,” Stone called, turning to one of the female bodyguards. “You and Sasha will search the women.

Follow them to their quarters and check everything.

Remove anything suspicious.”

The women gasped softly. Fear and embarrassment spread across their faces.

Christy and Sasha stepped forward immediately, guns visible at their sides. Without wasting time, they began leading the women out.

Stone gave similar instructions to two of his male guards, who nodded and moved into action. Finally, Stone lowered himself onto a couch.

His face remained unreadable, but deep stress lines creased his forehead. He looked exhausted, burdened by the weight of responsibility pressing down on him.

Too many lives depended on him.

He thought of Alfred Wyndham, his former boss. The old man who trusted no one blindly. Stone decided he would

– use Alfred’s method now-cold, careful, and precise.

For the first time in a long while, Stone leaned back fully.

He felt drained. Tired For a fleeting second, he thought about how badly he needed rest… and maybe a woman to take the edge off.

He placed his gun on the table beside him and closed his eyes briefly.

Just then, the front door burst open.

Two maids were dragged inside by guards.

Stone’s eyes snapped open.

The women were shaking, fear written clearly on their faces. In their hands, they carried something small but noticeable.

A box.

Stone leaned forward slowly, his eyes narrowing as he stared at it.

His instincts screamed.

This… might be what he was looking for.
