Don’t Mess with the Girl with Candy Chapter 1040

Chapter 1040

[ 688 words ]

“Meet her?” Hattie didn’t understand, her anxiety spiking. “Sheryl is the kind of person who will argue even when she’s dead wrong, let alone when she’s covered in bruises. Won’t she scream until the whole campus hears her? Juniper, this is a mess. I highly recommend you stay out of it.”

“It’s fine,” Juniper sat up straight, her tone entirely nonchalant. “It just so happens I haven’t seen her in a while.”

“Her?” Hattie was completely lost, getting more confused by the second. “Juniper, who are you talking about?” Were they even having the same conversation?

“I’ll bring you with me when the time comes!” Juniper looked at Hattie with a charming smile.

“Oh. Okay.” Hattie rubbed her nose. She didn’t really get it, but she didn’t want to press the issue in the middle of class either. “By the way, the grades for our latest papers came out. As expected from a genius, you’re the only one in the class who scored over ninety.” More importantly, she had scored over ninety on all three papers. It was completely insane.

“These are my papers?” Juniper flipped through the graded sheets several times, her mind drawing a complete blank. “When did I ever write these?” Her name was on them, but she had absolutely no memory of the content.

“Huh?” Hattie blinked, thinking Juniper was acting very weird today. Was she talking nonsense?

“Oh, right. I remember now,” Juniper leaned back lazily, speaking as if it were the most normal thing in the world. “Shanley did my homework for me.”

“Mr. Schwartz did your homework?!” Hattie’s eyes bugged out, her shock nearly causing her to scream out loud.

“Yeah,” Juniper nodded, her expression perfectly calm. “It’s not the first time. Back in high school, he used to stay up late finishing my assignments all the time.”

Hattie was paralyzed in her seat, the word “shock” practically stamped across her forehead. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t picture the ruthless, domineering tycoon of the business world sitting quietly at a desk, doing homework. No wonder people privately gossiped that Mr. Schwartz was hopelessly whipped. She hadn’t believed it before—after all, he didn’t exactly look the part. But now? Whipped. Terminal stage.

After classes ended, Juniper was sitting in the classroom when someone came to fetch her.

“Goddess, Principal Landon wants to see you in his office.”

“Alright.” Juniper pulled on her baseball cap and sauntered lazily toward the office.

Hattie had no idea what she was planning, but Juniper’s sheer composure made her feel a lot more confident. Besides, she had never seen Juniper take a loss. If she said there was a good show to watch then there definitely would be. With that thought in mind, Hattie, the ultimate spectator, trotted eagerly after her.

At the principal’s office.

“Mr. Landon, you wanted to see me?” Juniper knocked on the door, her voice cool and composed.

“Come in,” Lionel immediately stood up to welcome her, smiling warmly. “Take a seat anywhere. Sheryl and the others are right next door.”

“Sure.” Juniper didn’t stand on ceremony, strolling right in and dropping into a chair.

Hattie’s eyes widened, her breath catching in her throat. Even though they were in college now, the innate fear of authoritative figures seemed branded into her bones. She was still terrified She hadn’t expected Juniper to be this chill.

“You sit too,” Juniper gestured to the chair beside her, speaking to Hattie.

Hattie glanced nervously at the principal, terrified.

“Have a seat, please,” Lionel smiled, maintaining a kindly demeanor. He honestly didn’t dare act any other way. If this girl so much as coughed, Eclara University would shake to its foundations.

“Okay,” Hattie sat down obediently, purposely pulling her chair as close to Juniper as possible for moral support.

“Juniper, I’ve heard the general gist of what happened at the sports meet. Lionel began trying to play the peacemaker “It’s nevitable to have accidental injuries during a competition, and I firmly believe you didn’t do it on purpose. In a

moment…”

“I did it on purpose.” Juniper lifted her eyes, cutting him off darkly and speaking with

absolute bluntness. “Sheryl provoked me time and time again. When it was

harmless, I couldn’t be bothered to waste my energy on her.”
