Chapter 1224
[ 566 words ]
“It’s just…” Silas gave a weak, strained smile. “This villa was originally a birthday present from your grandfather to your mother. Corvus blew it up over a decade ago.”
“I never expected it to be rebuilt.”
“Understood.”
Juniper stared at the photo for a few seconds, lifting her gaze. “Dad, rest well. I will bring Mom back.”
“Be safe.”
Silas nodded, a hint of sorrow in his weathered eyes.
Late at night at the base.
The lights were blazing as everyone sat glued to their computers, racing against time to track Corvus’s exact location.
“Thank you all for your hard work these past few days.”
Juniper gave a deep bow, looking out at the crowd. “When this is over, you will all be generously rewarded.”
“It is an honor to serve Mrs. Schwartz,” the team stood up and responded in unison. “Thank you, Mrs. Schwartz.”
The news that the Boss was getting engaged had spread throughout the entire Sigma Network base.
They were all smart people.
Titles that needed changing were changed immediately.
Shanley looked at his men, a satisfied smirk pulling at his lips.
“Let’s get down to business.”
Juniper ignored the new title, sitting in her chair and flipping through the files.
“This beach used to be a small, impoverished fishing village. Later, a wealthy buyer purchased the land and built the beachside villa. Then…”
“Get to the point.”
Juniper cut off Flint’s rambling.
“Yes.” Flint choked back his words. “Because the coastline is wide open with no cover, our people will be easily exposed if we move in.”
“We used drones for high-altitude reconnaissance and discovered that the villa is completely surrounded by security cameras.”
“Are there guards?” Juniper asked.
“No,” Flint replied. “Corvus’s men were either captured or scattered during the battle at the estate. To evade pursuit, he likely didn’t have a chance to bring anyone with him.”
“So, it might just be Corvus and your mother inside the villa.”
“Exactly.”
“Mm.”
Juniper stood up, her dark eyes lifting. “I’ll handle the rescue operation alone.”
Too many people would compromise the mission.
Going in solo, she wouldn’t mess it up.
The crowd remained silent, instead turning their gazes toward Shanley.
If Corvus dared to hold someone captive on an open beach, he definitely had countermeasures prepared.
It would be incredibly dangerous for her to go alone.
“We’ll proceed with this plan,” Shanley agreed without objection, pulling Juniper out of the base.
Once they were in the car…
He turned to the icy-faced young woman, his lips parting. “Safety first.”
Juniper narrowed her eyes, a smile breaking through. “I thought you’d want to tag along.”
“The more people, the higher the risk
of exposure Shanley smirked With
your
r skills taking out ten corvus Thornes wouldn’t be a problem.’
“Thanks for the compliment.”
Juniper squeezed his fingers, holding his hand tightly in hers.
“Have you figured out how to get
inside the
villa?” Shanley leaned
gently brushing a stravy hair fet
forehead
“I need your help.”
her
Juniper explained her entire plan. “I need rain. A massive storm.”
Eclara City had been experiencing suspiciously good weather lately; it was nowhere
near rainy season.
“Cloud seeding.”
Shanley didn’t even have to think about it. “I’ll be your backup. Go save your mother.”
Your mother?
He certainly adapted to the family dynamic quickly.
Three days later.
At 6:00 PM.
The rescue operation officially began.
Juniper took a car to the outskirts of the small fishing village.
There were cameras ahead.
Juniper stepped out of the car,
zipping her black athletic jacket vet
the
way up throwing on a black. and mask.

Thanks to the cloud seeding, dense rain clouds blanketed the sky, plunging the
world into pitch-black darkness.
Dressed in all black, Juniper practically melted into the night.
“Head back.”
