Chapter 1254

[ 642 words ]

Monday.

Juniper packed her things and headed straight for the Eclara University medical department.

She was only two days late reporting in.

But Professor Dawson had been calling her ten times a day like his life depended on

it.

It was exhausting.

The moment she stepped near the medical building, the whispers started.

She was the university’s perfect-score valedictorian, sister of the famous Jimmie

Tate, and the future matriarch of the Schwartz Group.

It was hard not to envy a life like that.

“Did you hear? Just because she got lucky and saved someone at the campus gate last time, Professor Dawson invited her to double major in medicine.”

“And she’s not just joining the department. She skipped the first three years and went straight into the senior class.”

“That’s ridiculous.”

The students exchanged shocked looks, their gossip growing more vicious.

“Just because she knows a few parlor tricks, she gets to skip to fourth-year material?”

“Professor Dawson’s class is notoriously brilliant. Do you really think they’re going to accept some random outsider parachuting in?”

“Just wait. This is going to be a disaster.”

The last time Juniper was here, she had thoroughly embarrassed some of the department’s slackers.

They held a grudge and were practically vibrating with excitement to see her make a fool of herself.

She had climbed too high, received too much praise. She probably forgot she was just human like the rest of them.

How much could a freshman possibly know about advanced medicine?

Sitting in on a senior class.

She wouldn’t understand a single word!

The murmurs echoed through the halls.

But the moment Juniper got close, the crowd scattered like startled birds.

*Tsk.*

Juniper heard every word and let it roll right off her back.

Honestly.

Nothing was more satisfying than proving people wrong.

Ignoring the stares.

Juniper knocked on Professor Dawson’s office door. “Come in, come in!”

Dawson immediately welcomed her, pouring her a glass of water with an incredibly warm demeanor. “Jumper, I heard you wanted to join the senior class?”

“Yeah?”

Juniper nodded, holding the glass. “If you teach grad students, I can join their classes too.”

But from what she knew.

Dawson’s senior class was exceptionally gifted. Many of the students were already being hailed as rising stars in the medical field.

Some had even represented the university and the country in international competitions before they had even graduated.

Bringing home massive awards.

Because of this, the university placed immense importance on this specific class.

They hadn’t assigned Dawson any grad students, wanting him to focus solely on them.

“Uh.”

Dawson was momentarily stumped by her confidence.

While it was true she was brilliant and possessed undeniable medical talent, jumping straight into advanced clinical medicine…

She wouldn’t understand a thing, right?

chuckled nervously. “My current class moves at an incredibly fast pace and they’ve already mastered most of the foundational material.”

“Juniper, here’s the thing, net

“If you jump in halfway, I’m just worried you won’t be able to keep up.”

Dawson scratched his head, asking cautiously, “How about we start from the freshman curriculum? How does that sound?”

“Oh.”

Juniper let out a breath and slowly

stood up. “Just so we’re clear, it’s

you

who wouldn’t let me join, not me backing out. Don’t bother Professor anymore.”

With that.

She turned on her heel and headed for the door, picking up her pace until she was practically speed-walking.

*Don’t call me back, don’t call me back, don’t call me back…*

“Wait, Juniper!” Dawson chased after her, blocking her path with a look of pained resolve. “You want to take the senior class? No problem!”

“Let’s see if you can keep up. If not, we’ll figure something else out.”

Based on his decades of teaching experience, there was no way this girl was going to comprehend the lecture.

Once she realized she was out of her depth, she’d quietly go back to the freshman basics.

How could she say no to that?

Juniper stared at him silently. His little scheme had just shattered into a million pieces.

That very day.

Dawson led her into the exclusive, ten-student 4th-Year Clinical Medicine Honors Class.

“I’m sure you all know Juniper. Eclara University’s pride and joy.”
