Chapter 1365
[ 595 words ]
Two days later.
The genetic extraction and comparison experiments were finally a success.
“Set the stage.”
Juniper wore a crisp white button-down paired with a brown maxi skirt, highlighting her slender waist and long legs.
“Oh, right, Mom and Dad need to be there too.” Juniper turned back to Harold. “I refuse to let them suffer any more false accusations.”
“Done.”
Harold nodded, then asked, “Where should we set up the stage?”
“The university gates.”
Juniper turned her head, her gaze landing on Shanley. “Set up a global synchronized live stream. The spectators have waited long enough.”
“Got it.”
Shanley nodded, taking her hand. “This broadcast will be pushed directly to everyone’s phone.”
At 2:00 PM.
A massive horde of reporters surrounded Eclara University’s front gates, lugging their cameras and anxiously awaiting the main event.
They had received a tip that Juniper and her family were going to issue a public explanation regarding the “gene modification” scandal.
The gates were absolutely packed.
Before long.
A fleet of black luxury sedans pulled up in tight formation. Bodyguards in crisp suits, dark sunglasses, and earpieces immediately spilled out, cordoning off a secure perimeter.
Moment’s later, Shanley led Juniper out into the open.
*Click-click-click!*
Since the rumors had started, this was the first time the two had made a public appearance together, instantly shattering any gossip about a broken engagement.
The reporters hoisted their cameras, snapping frantically.
The air was filled with the deafening roar of camera shutters.
Shortly after.
Another vehicle pulled up, and Silas Blackwood and Theia Sommers stepped out.
In an instant.
The crowd surged forward, an uproar of furious murmurs erupting.
The majority were screaming accusations at Silas and Theia. If the bodyguards hadn’t been standing. firm some of the more radical onlookers likely would have taken off their shoes and thrown them.
As for the rest of her siblings.
They had all clamored to come, but Juniper had explicitly forbidden it.
Jimmie was an A-list superstar with far too many fans; she was worried the crowd would become uncontrollable.
Harold was a doctor; exposing his identity wouldn’t do him any favors, and she didn’t want anyone sabotaging his career.
Melvin was way too hot-headed and completely useless in a fight.
As for her sisters, Juniper had just flat-out refused.
Having too many people there would just make the scene chaotic.
She just wanted to drop the bomb and leave.
“Miss Payne, could you-“
Seeing her step up, the reporters lunged forward, desperate to grab the first exclusive quote.
“Shh!”
Juniper cut them off with a cool smile, her tone crisp and commanding. “Don’t rush. Everything you want to know, I will tell you.”
Stepping forward, Juniper tapped her finger gently against the lens of one of the
cameras.
The cameraman’s hands shook violently in fear, not daring to make a sound.
“You’re off-center. You need this
angle to get my face perfectly.”
Juniper adjusted the lens herself, her
red lips curving into a threatening.
smirk If you take an ugly
goto of
me, will make your life very difficult.”
The cameraman: “?”
“Mom, Dad, let’s begin.”
Juniper withdrew her gaze. Seeing that the equipment was all set up, she stepped
behind the console and spoke clearly into the microphone.
“I am here to clarify three things today.
First: I am not a genetically modified
monster. Every single gene, evene
single cell in my body, is one hundred percent natural! The fact that I’m smart is purely genètics!
Second: Although my parents previously worked at the Albia Genetics and Biology Research Institute, they never participated in any unethical practices!
Third: My older siblings were victims, and their genes were never modified either!”
“I will resolve all three of these issues in thirty minutes.”
Juniper checked the time and raised an eyebrow. “Perfect. Just in time for dinner.”
The crowd: “???”
Are you sure this is a press conference and not a fan meet-and-greet?
