Chapter 1470
[ 674 words ]
“Not gonna lie, I’m pretty curious about this Lorelei.”
Luella leaned in close to Jimmie, lowering her voice. “Juniper said she’s like a classic beauty stepping right out of a vintage painting. Completely elegant and refined in every single move.”
“And you know Juniper. She absolutely adores women with that kind of timeless charm.”
“Who does she adore?”
Jimmie frowned, lightly pinching her cheek. “Luella, explain yourself!”
“Tch.”
Luella batted his hand away, shooting him a hard glare. “Someone’s jealous, aren’t they, Superstar?”
“Damn right I am.”
Jimmie didn’t hesitate to admit it, wrapping his arm tightly around her waist. His tone was dead serious. “I have to be jealous of Juniper, and now I have to be jealous of Harold’s wife too? Mrs. Tate, your husband isn’t built to just sit back and take it.”
Luella was practically speechless. She glanced around at the others, then quickly went on her tiptoes to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth, her eyes crinkling into a smile. “I love you the most.”
“Mhm.”
Jimmie looked thoroughly satisfied. He wrapped Luella’s hand in his own and looked over at Celine. “How have your checkups been? Is the baby doing well?”
“Everything’s great, Jimmie.”
Celine rubbed her five-month baby bump, round and firm. “When are you and Luella going to have one of your own?”
“It’s too soon for that.”
Jimmie glanced at Luella, keeping his voice low. “We just got married. Popping out a little brat right now would just ruin the vibe.”
“Once yours is born, I’ll just let her borrow it to play with.”
Celine’s expression instantly shifted as she instinctively took a step back, pouting. “Why does everyone want to borrow my baby to play with?”
“Who else said that?” Luella leaned in, instantly curious.
“Juniper,” Celine answered, caught between exasperation and amusement. “She called dibs ages ago. Said I had to let her borrow the baby for a few days.”
Her son wasn’t even born yet, and he was already being treated like a toy.
“Is that right?” Luella looked absolutely thrilled, throwing her hand in the air. “Then Juniper gets first dibs, and I call next!”
“Ahem.”
Warren pressed his fist against his lips and coughed, politely reminding them that the child did, in fact, have a father standing right there.
“Alright.”
Jimmie grabbed Luella’s hand, leaning down to whisper in her ear, “If you want a baby that badly, we’ll just have our own. Then you can play with it however you want.”
“In your dreams.” Luella’s cheeks flushed as she elbowed him hard in the chest.
“What, you actually think you’re going to win a tug-of-war against Juniper?” Jimmie pointed out optimistically.
Luella thought about it for a second and realized he made a stratingly valid point. “Fine, fine. I’ll give you eight sons.”
Jimmie froze, the color draining from his face.
“Why isn’t Lorelei here yet?” Melvin craned his neck, looking around curiously. “You don’t think Harold completely botched it and failed to bring her, do you?” fo FindNovel.net
“Just wait Ebony Fox shot him a sharp look, issuing an icy warning “When Lorelei gets here, keep your mouth shut. I don’t want you scaring her off with your nonsense.
“Show some respect!”
Melvin’s expression darkened, clearly displeased. “Is that any way to talk to me?”
“And your point is?”
Ebony Fox cracked her knuckles, the bones popping ominously. “How exactly do you want me to talk to you, Melvin?”
If he didn’t like her words…
She was more than happy to use her fists!
Melvin instantly folded, snapping his mouth shut and glaring furiously into the distance.
“Hahaha…”
Coralie clamped a hand over her mouth, practically snorting with laughter. “Melvin loves picking fights he can’t possibly win.”
“Right?”
Ebony Fox raised an eyebrow, stepping back over to Coralie’s side. “Next time he starts giving you grief, just drop my name.”
Let’s see him try to act tough then!
“Thanks, Ebony.” Coralie tugged affectionately at the edge of Ebony Fox’s jacket, a dazzling smile lighting up her meticulously made-up face.
Just as they were joking around.
Two sleek black sports cars slowly rolled into the estate’s driveway.
“They’re here,” Theia said, a warm smile spreading across her face. She gave them
one last reminder: “Don’t act so stiff, everyone. Just be gentle.”
