Chapter 1472

“Okay,” Lorelei nodded obediently, stealing a glance at the “angry” Theia.
“Let’s go.” Harold took the lead with Lorelei in his arms, while Theia and Juniper trailed behind.
Once they were out of earshot, Theia covered her mouth and leaned in, smiling like a sly fox. “So? How was my acting back there?”
“Incredible!” Juniper gave her a thumbs-up, teasing, “Next time, hold a baseball bat to really sell it.”
“Are you making fun of your mother?” Theia laughed happily, squeezing her daughter’s hand. She glanced back at Harold, who was walking quietly ahead, and lowered her voice. “Your Aunt Miranda showed me the wedding plans last night. It’s obvious they’ve put a lot of effort into it.”
Planning a wedding was too tedious and troublesome, and Juniper had zero interest in dealing with it.
So, the parents from both families had taken over the logistics.
“I’ll give Aunt Miranda a call later to thank her.”
“Mm,” Theia smiled with deep relief. With a mother-in-law like Miranda, she had absolutely nothing to worry about.
Inside the villa.
Theia and Silas, along with the household staff, had been busy all morning.
They had prepared an absolute feast.
The dishes were incredibly diverse, catering to everyone’s individual tastes.
“Lorelei, you sit right here,” Theia said, pointing to a chair.
Lorelei took her seat.
When she saw the dishes arranged in front of her, her eyes slowly widened. “These are all my favorites. Thank you, Mom.”
“You’re very welcome.” Theia served her some food, making sure to add, “Harold gave me a list in advance. He’s very meticulous, you know. He even specified exactly how much scallions to use.”
Harold?
Lorelei looked at the man beside her in astonishment. When no one was paying attention, she lowered her voice and asked, “How did you know all this so perfectly? Did you ask my grandma?”
Harold had been about to say no, but before he could, Lorelei broke into a sweet smile. “When did you ask her? How come I didn’t know? Grandma is the only one who knows my preferences this well.”
“Mm.” Seeing her look so happy, Harold didn’t correct her. Instead, he started peeling shrimp for her.
She loved shrimp, but had been avoiding them since she injured her leg to help with the healing.
Today, he was going to let her indulge.
“Lorelei, this is a wedding gift from all of us,” Melvin announced, bringing out a stack of gift boxes and placing them beside her, slightly out of breath “Because of the family situation, pone of us could be there, when you and Harold got married. But the gifts are definitely mandatory.”
“Thank you, Melvin,” Lorelei politely expressed her gratitude. Her mind involuntarily flashed back to Harold’s assessment of him.
Melvin: Never takes anything seriously, always hitting on people in his social circle.
Looking at him now, he did seem a bit playful.
“Don’t mention it,” Melvin said, returning to his seat. Lorelei then looked around at the others, thanking them one by one.
First was Jimmie, the A-list actor who had famously been bent and then straightened back out.
His and Luella’s story had caused a massive uproar online, and she had spent countless nights staying up until dawn eating up all the gossip.
Seeing them in person, they were clearly very much in love.
“You’re welcome,” Luella smiled, taking the shrimp Jimmie had just
peeled for her and sliding them onto fork Lorelei’s plate. “Eat up if you like them you’ve got someone peeling them for you, so it’s an endless supply.”
“And to Ebony, Coralie, Celine…” Lorelei’s eyes grew hot, her heart swelling with emotion. She had to fight back the tremor in her voice as she thanked them.
Even though she came from a wealthy family, she had experienced precious little warmth growing up.
Whenever someone treated her well, she easily felt overwhelmed with gratitude.
“No need to be so polite, we’re all family here.” Coralie, sporting flawless makeup and dazzling diamonds on her nails, flashed a radiant smile. Coralie, the sixth sister.
Lorelei remembered Harold mentioning that her hobby was keeping pretty boys.
Wow.
When she first heard that, she had been absolutely stunned, and even a little in
awe.
