Chapter 1551
[ 553 words ]
“It’s not that I don’t like the food.” Janet stared at Kian, mustering all her courage. “I don’t like the person delivering it.”
She had dropped countless hints, both subtle and direct, telling him to back off and stop these misleading gestures.
He just kept playing dumb.
Left with no other choice, she abandoned politeness and just called it exactly what it
was.
The smile on Kian’s face nearly cracked, but he quickly recovered, leaning into his thick skin. “You just don’t like me right now. That doesn’t mean you won’t like me later.”
“Women, you know, eventually you’ll want a boyfriend. So I’m just getting in line early.”
Janet: “?”
What kind of brain-dead logic was that?
There were plenty of independent, capable women with their own minds and careers who didn’t need boyfriends.
Stop using that
outdated, misogynistic mindset to objectify modern women.
Janet originally thought Kian was an okay guy, but the more time she spent with him, the more she realized she was dead wrong.
“Or what, is there someone else you like?” Kian pressed on.
Hearing this, Janet froze slightly, a certain man’s silhouette involuntarily flashing through her mind.
She forced herself to stay calm and fired back, “Whether I do or not is none of your business.”
“Kian, we are just classmates. You’re crossing a line.”
Having said her piece.
Janet didn’t spare him another glance, turning on her heel and walking away decisively.
Watching the girl’s proud, retreating figure, Kian clenched his fists at his sides, a cold, venomous hatred seeping into his eyes.
Who would’ve thought Janet would be such a tough nut to crack.
With any other girl, all this effort and attention would have gotten them into his bed ages ago.
But he wasn’t going to give up.
During this field trip, he was going to force their relationship to the next level.

Tuesday.
Janet packed her bags and arrived at the meeting point at Windsor Riverside Retreat.
All the students had gathered, and Kian was currently taking roll.
Seeing her walk up, Kian immediately approached and, in of the entire class said,
w?net
fought you breakfast.”
“Ooooh.”
The class erupted into a chorus of teasing murmurs, shooting the two of them knowing, suggestive looks.
Trying to force her hand publicly?
Janet stared at Kian, any lingering respect she had for him completely turning to disgust.
“I already ate.” Janet smoothly
passed the breakfast bag to the
professor who had just arrived
“Professor Zuniga kian brought this specifically for you.”
The older professor smiled brightly. “That’s very kind of you. Thank you, Kian.”
The other students looked at Kian curiously, noticing that Janet was acting extremely cold toward him.
Weren’t they supposed to be dating?
“Let’s finish the roll call,” Kian deflected, ignoring the awkwardness.
But internally, he was seething.
Roll call finished.
Since they had tacked the training seminar onto this trip.
They had to wait for the executives to arrive.
To avoid looking like freeloaders, they needed to show the proper respect.
“Who exactly is this big-shot sponsor?” someone asked. “They’re insanely generous.”
“Only Professor Zuniga knows,”
another replied. “But I heard the
User has to personally escort,
them in.”
“Kian, you’re close with the professor, you must know, right?” the students chattered
away.
“You’ll see when they get here,” Kian answered coolly.
Truthfully, he had asked.
But Professor Zuniga told him not to pry.
“They’re here, they’re here!”
Just as the confusion peaked, a sleek black luxury minibus pulled up in the distance.
The students immediately craned their necks to look.
Janet was curious too; she lifted her gaze, feeling a faint flutter of hope.
Would Melvin be here?
