Chapter 165

“Are you all useless? I gave you so much money, and you actually let those two go!”
Suddenly, a voice emanated from the alley. Though the person seemed to try to keep his volume low, to be honest, with a voice like his, whether he tried to keep it down or not didn’t make much of a difference. Anyone passing by the alley could hear it.
But Zhang Hanyu, who had no idea how dangerous the situation was about to become, stared at the three men standing in front of him with a disdainful look. After all, he had paid them six hundred yuan to get rid of Su Xiaoxiao and Jiang Yexun.
Instead of making them disappear from the world, they hadn’t even scratched the surface and had left Beijing without a care in the world.
Did he still have a face left?! Who in Beijing would respect him in the future?!
However, when that rather fierce-looking man saw Zhang Hanyu’s attitude, he immediately transformed into a terrifying figure.
“You! We haven’t settled our scores yet, and now you dare to act tough with us?” The lead man spat directly at Zhang Hanyu’s face.
Zhang Hanyu felt nauseous, immediately retching and wiping away the disgusting substance with his sleeve.
“You’re asking for death!”
Bang!
His fierce words had barely left his mouth when another person nearby kicked Zhang Hanyu to the ground.
“You gave us so little money and had us deal with those two so dangerous! You knew how good they were at fighting, yet you never mentioned it. You almost cost the lives of us brothers yesterday,” the man said, growing angrier. He followed up by viciously kicking Zhang Hanyu.
“Ahh!!! Stop it! Stop! Do you know who I am? How dare you hit me!” Zhang Hanyu yelled in great fury.
But the more he screamed, the harder they hit him. In the end, the other two men also joined in.
In just a short ten minutes, Zhang Hanyu had been beaten into submission, gasping for breath.
Su Xiaoxiao was extremely anxious when she heard the sound of grunts and groans that had ceased. She reached out and tugged on Jiang Yexun’s clothes.
Jiang Yexun turned around to look at her, and she quickly gestured silently, “They’re beating him so badly. If they really leave him half-dead, how are we going to get to the bottom of this?”
“It’s okay, they know their limits,” Jiang Yexun reassured her, pinching her hand gently.
Although they wanted to kill Zhang Hanyu out of anger, they wouldn’t go too far considering Zhang Hanyu’s status, so they wouldn’t risk taking his life.
The reason for the silence was that Zhang Hanyu wasn’t putting up a fight.
In fact, the truth had proven exactly that. The three men stopped when Zhang Hanyu’s face was covered in bruises and then tossed him to the ground like a rag.
Zhang Hanyu closed his eyes, pretending to have been beaten into unconsciousness.

However, the three men taunted him with cold laughter. “What kind of young master from a big estate are you? You’re nothing compared to those of us who’ve been on the streets.”
“You worthless piece of trash, if you don’t open your eyes and talk properly, don’t blame us for doing something even worse to your head,” the leader sneered, threateningly.
Zhang Hanyu shivered in fear and quickly opened his eyes. The three men continued to mock him with hearty laughter. “As expected, a spineless waste of space! With his attitude, he’s enjoyed all those good things for nothing!”
“What do you want from me, in the end? You say Su Xiaoxiao and Jiang Yexun are good at fighting, but I had no idea! I’m willing to give up the money you have and consider it your medical fees!” Zhang Hanyu compromised in humiliation.
