Chapter 381
Madam Zhuo hadn’t even reached Su Xiaoxiao before she extended her claws. But before she could touch her, Jiang Yexun swiftly kicked her out.
“Ah!” Madam Zhuo let out a wail, falling to the ground and unable to move for a while.
Seeing his mother being attacked, Zhuo Changdong was enraged. With a fierce expression, he shouted at Jiang Yexun, “Are you even a man? You’re hitting a woman!”
“Boom!”
Jiang Yexun responded with a punch to his head.
Su Xiaoxiao watched coldly and mocked, “You hit your own wife; my boyfriend is just dealing with a stranger. What’s wrong with that?”
“What’s wrong with hitting my own wife?! She’s part of my family now, so this is my family matter!” Zhuo Changdong retorted defiantly.
Su Xiaoxiao couldn’t believe how stubborn he was, and her chest tightened in anger. Ding Xuechun, however, pulled her back.
Su Xiaoxiao nearly exploded. She thought to herself that if Ding Xuechun wanted to settle things quietly, she’d step back from this mess. After all, she had already intervened once.
But Ding Xuechun said weakly, “Xiaoxiao, can you lend me a belt?”
“Huh?” Su Xiaoxiao was taken aback.
Ding Xuechun explained, “Since my husband says this is a family issue, I need to handle it myself.”
Understanding her intentions, Su Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but smile joyfully. “Sure! Just wait a moment!”
She turned her sparkling eyes to Jiang Yexun, who instinctively guarded his belt. As a man with a girlfriend, how could he let such a private item fall into another woman’s hands?
Su Xiaoxiao found it both funny and infuriating. “I’m not after your belt; I’m telling you to use it on Zhuo Changdong!”
Jiang Yexun sighed in relief and immediately went to grab Zhuo Changdong’s belt.
Zhuo Changdong panicked, desperately covering his waist and trying to back away, but he was too late. In a fit of anger, he yelled at Ding Xuechun, “You little slut! Are you going to hit me too?”
“If we’re a family, why should it only be you hitting me? Why can’t I hit you back?” Ding Xuechun countered.
Su Xiaoxiao was thrilled and nearly applauded from the sidelines. But when she noticed Zhuo Changdong was still wearing a thick winter coat, she quickly said, “Yexun, strip him of that coat. Wearing so much will affect Xuechun’s performance.”
Jiang Yexun obediently complied.
Madam Zhuo, seeing her son in danger of being beaten by his wife, felt as if the sky were falling. If this got out, how would their family face the world?
“Ding Xuechun, you little harlot! If you dare—ah!”
Before she could finish, Ding Xuechun had already struck Madam Zhuo across the face with the belt.
Silence fell in the air as Zhuo Changdong’s sister stared at Ding Xuechun in disbelief. “Are you crazy? You dare hit your own mother-in-law?”
“So what if I did? As if she hasn’t hit me enough already! She’s not even my real mother! Why should I show her respect when she treats me poorly?” Ding Xuechun’s pent-up frustrations exploded as she relentlessly struck her sister-in-law with the belt.
If she was going to get disfigured before her marriage, what good would her bride price be?
Madam Zhuo rushed forward in panic, but Ding Xuechun swung the belt without regard for anyone, making Madam Zhuo and her sister roll on the ground, wailing in pain.
After a while, Ding Xuechun grew bored and switched the target of her blows to Zhuo Changdong, who was now left with just an undershirt after being stripped.
Zhuo Changdong screamed in pain and attempted to dodge, but Jiang Yexun stepped on him firmly, pinning him down.
At first, Zhuo Changdong yelled back defiantly, but as Ding Xuechun’s strikes became more ferocious, he couldn’t help but start begging for mercy.
Yet, no compassion came from Ding Xuechun. She recalled the humiliation she felt in this family and how desperate she was when they had belittled her from the moment she stepped into their home.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Each swing of the belt became harder and more rapid.
Finally, Zhuo Changdong could no longer endure it, shouting, “Divorce! I want a divorce!”
“Pah! You dare bring up divorce!” Su Xiaoxiao, angered, kicked Zhuo Changdong hard in the face.
Blood spurted from his nose as he cried, “She’s hitting me and my mother! Why shouldn’t I want a divorce?”
“You call this a small family quarrel? Families can bicker! You still have your teeth; the tongue can be bitten too! Besides, she’s hitting you back because you hit her first. She’s just releasing her grievances, right?” Su Xiaoxiao stood over him, speaking sarcastically.
“No! I want a divorce!” Zhuo Changdong gritted his teeth.
Seeing his stubbornness, Su Xiaoxiao turned to Ding Xuechun and suggested, “I think he might be seeing someone else. Why not hit him some more and ask? If he is, we can send him to the police—his behavior could lead to a charge of being a scoundrel.”
