“Let’s agree on this first; don’t get angry when you meet him,” Su Xiaoxiao said, worried.
Hearing her words, Su Hongchen’s heart sank considerably. “Who is this guy you’ve found? Is he not an educated youth? Is it someone from the production team? Did he mistreat you?”
“No, he’s very good to me. I just didn’t want you to have any biases,” Su Xiaoxiao said, playing with the corner of the blanket. She then teased, “But we’ve made an agreement; when he comes in, don’t be too angry.”

Su Xiaoxiao looked at him with concern and, as she could see that he was nearly furious, she didn’t push the matter further.
She left the hospital room, and as she waited outside, Jiang Yexun immediately approached. “How is your brother? Is he seriously injured?”
“It seems fine, but he feels weaker than he should,” Su Xiaoxiao said, her face contorted with worry. She couldn’t really tell if he was weaker, but mentioning these concerns and making everyone worried would be safer, given her brother’s past experiences.
“What do you want to do now? Inquire about his condition from the doctor or buy some supplements?” Jiang Yexun asked, his concern evident.
“My brother realized I brought my boyfriend, so now he wants you to go in,” Su Xiaoxiao said with a charming pout.
Jiang Yexun’s face was immediately tense. Before he could say anything, Su Xiaoxiao spoke up.
“It’s okay, let’s come in quickly. Or else my brother might think you are too weak and not manly enough. He’s possessed with rage right now, no matter what he will definitely find fault in you.”
Su Xiaoxiao quickly pushed open the door to the hospital room. Inside, she saw a young man with a rugged appearance and an aura of silent authority who was coldly staring at her.
Her brother, Su Hongchen, wasn’t pleased to see her boyfriend. Su Xiaoxiao hadn’t told her brother anything about her relationship, and now things were getting awkward.
“Hello, big brother,” Jiang Yexun politely greeted him.
Su Hongchen didn’t reply immediately; instead, he looked the young man up and down, scrutinizing him closely. Finally, he spoke slowly, “You don’t have to call me ’big brother,’ I’m not your big brother. You look older than me, right?”
“Yes, I’m two years older,” Jiang Yexun admitted with a brave face.
“Ha! That’s six years older than my sister! People say that when young spouses grow old together, but with such an age difference, isn’t it like making my sister serve you and then die alone?” Su Hongchen mocked.
“Brother, don’t be unfair! Who criticizes people based on their age as soon as they meet them?” Su Xiaoxiao scolded him, stomping her foot. After all, nobody had the ability to return to their mother’s womb to be born a few years later.
“It’s alright, your brother is right,” Jiang Yexun reassured Su Xiaoxiao with a smile. Then, he turned to Su Hongchen and promised, “I am indeed a bit older than Xiaoxiao, but I’ll take better care of her than anyone else. From now on, I won’t even let her touch a broom in our house. If I ever ask her to do any housework, you can beat me up without hesitation. I’ll also make sure to educate our children well, and I won’t spoil them. They will be taught to be filial.”
Su Hongchen coldly fixed his eyes on Jiang Yexun and stated, “Xiaoxiao is our family’s treasure. Her time in the countryside is just temporary. We’re already looking for a job for her so she can return to Shanghai soon. She’s definitely not going to stay in your production team.”
